Denmark & Norway are set up with very different economic & cultural systems. I would much rather feed people & make sure they know they are important to the community than fight with people. The US culture is transactional & values profits over people. I don’t see that changing.

I worked in homeless services for decades & food banks are a lifeline for other services & programs. The government has never been interested in effectively ending hunger or poverty, but community members step up. People who work & volunteer at food banks save lives. Literally.

I grew up in a cult & this is true. Additionally I know that cult leaders know, once people have violated their own moral code in order to be part of the cult, the leader has them. The moral injury a member would have to absorb to acknowledge they are in violation of deeply held beliefs is too much.

I don’t think that’s possible. People drawn to authoritarian, high conformity groups prefer ignorance & a sense of belonging. Truth be damned. D’s are more capable of independent thought, question authority, & trust their own moral code over platitudes or a group beliefs. Both groups eat their own.
