But it was done for our own good to avoid speaking the name of The Other Number.

Shumai appears twice and pasty fails to make the cut at all. Scandalous.

Yes! I tried her with Tiffany Aching but so far she hasn't been taken by them, I think that will likely come when she's a little older. Perhaps it was a bit too subtle for the moment? Same happened with Ursula Le Guin.

If you want to torment young children, play ice cream van music a few times vaguely near their house then drive away.

The Case of the Phantom Ice Cream Van

Why do we keep hearing it but never see it? We walked around trying to figure out what direction the music was coming from but then it disappeared for 2 hours. Heard it again 10 minutes ago very nearby, then nothing.

Met another family also hunting for it.

My kid has a Kobo and it's good. I love that we can temporarily download library books and load them onto it at no cost. We've done that with ~100 books so far. It doesn't connect directly to our local library's app but it's a simple process to do via laptop.

It must be such a relief to be back! Sounds like you'll be gradually getting sorted with everything. Always takes time to settle back in

I wouldn't have said the home counties were hostile terrains, but maybe I haven't been to the right bits?

Exciting! Are you getting a home charger installed? We have ended up charging ours via the outdoor 3 pronged plug for now, which works fine overnight

trolley problem diagram, with Sisyhpus pushing his boulder as the trolley car, and text that reads:

Sisyphus is rolling a boluder towards the Grand Hilbert Hotel. The hotel has an infinite number of rooms, but they are all full, so they may not be able to accomodate him or his boulder.

If you choose to divert him, his boulder will destroy the Ship of Theseus. But the ship has had all of its constituent parts replaced, so it may not actually be the same ship.

Is Sisyphus happy?

Ironically that used to be my optimal car parking location 25 years ago - walkable to the city centre but no parking charges 😊

Finally, the bug is back with a round of the Guinness.

Some of you like dogs, in which case you may appreciate that guide dogs of Team GB for the Paralympics get official photos
