Mexicans are able to correctly estimate the magnitude of income inequality in the country but they overestimate (by a lot) the degree of intergeneracional mobility in the country.

The two most salient innovations to automobiles — EVs and autonomous vehicles — both make congestion pricing valuable:
EVs will dry up gas revenues on which DOTs rely. While AVs will drastically increase vehicle miles traveled so everything will get congested absent pricing
There are several reasons to be sceptical about the misallocation literature (which does not show but generally assumes that policy-induced distortions generate the wedges) but an underrated one is simply historical. The USA in the 19th century also had lots of 'misallocation'....
