Thanks for the clarification that it’s not a requirement to be associated with the profession, it wasn’t clear before but it was the reason I had not signed before now.

Today I found out that a colleague thought my mask works like a sieve and does not filter out viruses. I briefly mentioned that it is electrostatically charged and shared the fun Youtube video explaining it. Nearly six years in and not a clue… he’s also seen me masking for over two years…

It’s also not that hard to understand how those masks work… or alternatively, people could just put their faith in science instead of holy ghost or hopium that they are unique and won’t be affected…

Same. Although with older ages (50 & around 45) but mere 10 days apart two colleagues dead. One from a lung cancer for which diagnosis received mere weeks before, the other was feeling unwell with stomach over weekend, went to hospital on Monday and died there. I am still the only one masking.

They knew it from the start. When Tedros first announced it he did say airborne, but then the Irish guy (forget his name) basically told him to retract that immediately and he corrected to droplet. So I’d say they knew just elected to downplay the risk in case the ‘plebs’ panic.

It’s not much but I felt the urge to put it out there. The situation in Netherlands is bad, just as you can safely assume at all times.

So mask up with a good respirator of FFP2/FFP3 quality, clean the air, and layer your protections to minimise the risk of an infection. If the watewater is bad, the air is probably worse. And as a bonus you get to avoid any other airborne pathogens that are floating all around us

In conclusion: we are not out of the pandemic. We never were. The situation is likely much worse than the official data suggests, and the only way to avoid #LongCovid is to continue to avoid a #Covid infection.

Even though @RIVM reported a drop in average number of particles (x100 billion) per 100,000 inhabitants, the adjusted figures show a statistically significan increase in viral particulates in wastewater.

After I did my little adjustments the averages go up considerably, and the picture is even more vivid.

Low levels have been claimed for a while but it’s clear that we are in the midst of a wave, and it seems to only be ramping up. Remember, this is the data that is published on their website week on week here www.rivm.nl/corona/actue...

The first chart is on the original data. Starting from end of 2024 and running up to the end of second week of October. Top chart is the most interesting one, which I have again staged for the shift in dara collection method that occurred in week 29

And again the story proves very different compared to what @RIVM is putting out week on week minimising the spread of the disease with their commentary.

So where does this leave us with the actual particles of Covid-19 in collected samples? Whether rightly or wrongly (as I’m not a statistician) I decided to adjust the weekly sample averages based on the actual population covered so the data shows based on weekly percentage.

To me this means that we cannot say anymore that we are comparing apples to apples in the data and it’s more like comparing apples to pears now. In my old job, with this significant shift in data we would have treated the whole variable as new and removed any links to past data.

The first thing I wanted to see was how much of the actual population was sampled since the shift. I think the data speaks for itself really, but for those not familiar with control charts, the average percent of population now covered is 85% with a much wider spread

So as part of my statistical software practice for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification Minitab exam I decided to check the data and visualise it. Cannot take the love for data out of a girl after 17 years in market research…

I’ve been dubious about the @RIVM Covid-19 wastewater data for a while, especially since they stopped collecting from all (or majority) of collection points a few months ago.

Right. More contrast and looks more finished.

They are serving the masters with the money. Key goals seem to be: get in power; stay in power; if kicked out of power, at least get a well-paid job afterwards via connections you served during power. And thus nothing improves for most of us.

I’d also note the 12m people who were taken from Africa and moved to Americas as part of the slave trade.

Good to see that the orange tyrant was thwarted this time, so now can we do Israel and Russia next?

I can now track my family’s and friends’ level of brain damage by whether they remembered it was my birthday yesterday. Three people close to me completely ignored it… two of my sisters and my best friend. These are some sad times.

Good riddance! Underqualified man with an ego the size of a planet and a loud voice does not always lead to getting what they want. In fact, it never should.
