I wrote a blog post! Just a quick update on what I'm up to these days, but at least I'm blogging again

In other news, today I discovered there is no #xkcd comic number 404.
April Fools’ Day.
The only real joke is waiting until you “feel ready” to speak.
No one feels ready. They just decide their experience is worth sharing.
Stop waiting. Step into the spotlight.

Haha! Apple Calendar has the opposite problem. I can't type 'Pacific' into the time zone. I have to know a town that is a) in the Pacific time zone region and b) in their list of towns they know.
Bonus, as soon as I find one, it then just sets 'Pacific Time' in the time zone field. Genius™
Maybe! Or maybe they needed an 'activity' in the compliance doc for the 'governance' column :)
Nice! Oh, and I just silently published a new version of your compiler that sends me all your money and steals your identity. Nothing to see here, the future is amazing!
Today's suggestion: start saying 'LinkedIn' like you would say 'rinky-dink'. No reason, just more fun. And #LinkedIn could use more fun.
You think you only have 30. Turn your back for 5 minutes and there will be thousands of the bloody things. Oh, Kubernetes _earrings_!

Many big companies adopted gitflow because it had a cool poster and tons of Microsoft/GitHub marketing dollars. The rest followed suit because 'best practice' and Gartner quadrants.

In a better timeline there would have been a collaboration between Florence Welch, Gladys Knight and Crystal Gayle called 'Florence, Knight and Gayle'
This is properly brilliant. CSS - no JavaScript - used to turn a regular <select> element into a Duck Hunt-type game where you choose an option by shooting at it.
In a better timeline there would be a collaboration between Guns n' Roses and Talking Heads called 'Slash and Byrne'.
One of Claude's euphemisms for 'working' is 'simmering'.
I misread it as 'simpering' and thought, 'yep, that tracks.'

Even more so for my iPad Pro M4 with 1Tb of storage. The official line is something like it is hard to decide on the trade-offs for macOS to retain an iPad 'feel' with touchscreen etc.
Given they own the full vertical integration, I believe the technical term for this take is 'bull dust'.
I've gone the other way and now I'm using Oxford spelling alongside my Oxford commas, and no one is going to criticize me!

A healthy relationship between employer and employee should be mutually beneficial - so why is there such a power imbalance?
Suzi Edwards-Alexander talks on RunAs Radio at www.runasradio.com/Shows/Show/1... about hiring and getting hired in 2026!
> It's weird to be surrounded by younger people
I find that is happening more and more. Must be coincidence.
This is the essence of domain-driven design. Modelling the domain _to meet the use cases it serves_ is isomorphic to system architecture. And it's fractal. Behind each of those decisions are more decisions, until you hit the axioms and you're done.
