Day 31: "Amok Time" – Spock goes through Pon Farr, which is basically male Vulcan time of the month. Spock fights Kirk to the death... over a woman who’s just not that into him. Checov makes his first appearance which marks the completion of the classic cast. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 30: "Operation: Annihilate!" – Flying pancake monsters attack a colony, Kirks brother Sam dies. Spock goes blind for ten minutes. Not the best season finale, but it concludes TOS season 1. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 29: "The City on the Edge of Forever" – It is no wonder this is most often considered the best episode of original Trek. Joan Crawford guest stars as the tragic Edith Keeler. Hard lessons in time travel are learned. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek

Day 22: "The Return of the Archons" – Kirk and the crew find the people on Beta 3 are mind controlled by a computer that was originally a politician, now pretending to be a deity. Lots of culty vibes, but we get the first mention of the Prime Directive. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 21: "Court Martial" – Kirk goes on trial for murder. Typical era TV legal drama, where a 3D chess game is used to prove a computer can error (or be tampered with). #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 20: "Tomorrow is Yesterday" – Accidental time travel. The Enterprise vs. 1960s Air Force. Somehow the writers stumbled upon gravitational time warping, and postulate negative implications of knowing future events. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 19: "Arena" – This one is the classic where Kirk fights a Gorn on a planet that in no way looks like Southen California. Kirk builds a bazooka out of rocks. This is peak 60s Trek. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 18: "The Squire of Gothos" – Childish godlike being messes with the crew. If I didn't know, I would have thought it a Q. Kirk handles it like an exhausted babysitter. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 17: "The Galileo Seven" – The Galileo shuttle crashes, and it's a clash between Spock’s logic and human panic. Turns out, emotional decision-making sometimes works better. Who knew? #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
Day 16: "Shore Leave" – Planet makes the thoughts of the crew real. Sulu is a gun nut, Kirk brawls with a schoolyard bully. McCoy dies, then he doesn’t. Amusment parks in space are weird. #StarTrekTOS #80DaysOfStarTrek
