I have the busiest week possible coming up and of course I end up at the doctors.

My students asked me about ancient Greek insults, and I want to compile a list for them. Comment your favorite insult and where it's from!
How long is too long for a diss chapter? Because I think I've crossed the line at this point.

It is absurd to me that BU doesn't allow access to certain online articles unless you're on campus. I live in Rhode Island. Honestly, what is the point of restricting access like that?
The amount of times I've called IT for help with technology that decides to work randomly on its own half way through class so that I look like an idiot is two time too many this semester.

I cannot overstate how excited I am for this. The Native American ceremonial and burial mounds in Ohio and West Virginia deserve way more attention than they get. If you're ever traveling through, try looking them up. They're everywhere hidden in plain sight.
art by flaroh illustration. Andromache and Astyanax watch hector leave to battle. Hector is in the foreground facing the viewer, dressed in scale armour and a boartusk helmet, carrying a cowhide shield with marking resembling a map of Greece and Turkey. He is looking back from the corner of his eye deeply bittersweetly. He makes eye contact with Andromache in the distance looking out over the top of the Trojan walls, holding a crying Astyanax who is reaching towards his father.

Andromache and Astyanax watch Hector leave from the battlements of Troy, not knowing they will never see him alive again...
Thank you to my patrons for the subject suggestion 🧡
Not ready to leave WV and lose my outdoor workspace.
I've been working on my parents' front porch this week and there's something soothing in watching the herds of cattle and the baling of hay. The rhythms and smells of home.
I'm at the point in my dissertation where I'm not even sure what my own point is anymore beyond "hey look, a cool tree".
