And so, an internet legend was born.
Stan Lee enters the comic book store (guess starring as himself) The Simpsons S13E18 "I Am Furious (Yellow)"
Wait, is that Stan Lee? And he's not making a cameo in a Marvel movie?
Yeah, the leader of all the Murkrows that stumble upon them.
Homer explaining how he's the alpha crow while talking to Moe at his tavern. Lenny, Carl and the drunken buddies are hiding at a corner. The Simpsons S13E16 "Weekend at Burnsie's"
Guess Homer killed a scarecrow and is now an alpha crow.
Rainier Wolfcastle coming into Moe's Tavern as his "authorized look-a-like": Chuck. The Simpsons S13E11 "The Bart Wants What It Wants"
If Rainier Wolfcastle needs to turn into his look-a-like, he'll become Chuck who lives in his trunk.
Pretty much. It's really easy to identify someone's work per scene as each animator who worked for Avery's crew before his departure had distinct styles to their drawing which Clampett noticed and was far more lenient at it.
His Bugs Bunny animation in Clampett's cartoons are the best of his work. He pretty much steals the show in Falling Hare and What's Cooking Doc.
Yeah, no ID checks or anything. He knows that his father needs to rescue his wife from being crushed.
It almost looks that way from that frame lol
Homer turning into Popeye to save Marge from the demolition derby. The Simpsons S13E9 "Jaws Wired Shut"
Homer imitating Popeye took me off-guard but it's really funny. Guess his can of spinach is a can of Duff lol

START THE MOVIE! START THE MOVIE!
The whole audience looking at the duck as his phone's ringing during a film. The Simpsons S13E9 "Jaws Wired Shut"
Let's hope your phone isn't ringing in the cinema, especially with Itchy and Scratchy around.
Homer, Carl and Lenny at age 12 hiking while signing Mr Sandman The Simpsons S13E5 "The Blunder Years"
Mr Sandman! Bring me a dream!
I also put Clampett up there too as all of his Daffy shorts are a banger.
These aren't the only ones I recommend. There's the Hunting Trilogy, all the ones Tashlin directed, My Favourite Duck, Baby Bottleneck, Wise Quacking Duck, Show Biz Bugs, Daffy Dilly, Birth of a Notion, Daffy Duck Slept Here
The list goes on and on
McKimson - Daffy Doodles
Jones - Duck Amuck
Freleng - His Bitter Half (You Ought to Be in Pictures is a close second)
Tashlin - Nasty Quacks
McCabe - Daffy's Southern Exposure
Clampett - Great Piggy Bank Robbery (Draftee Daffy is 2nd)
Davis - What Makes Daffy Duck
Avery - Daffy Duck and Egghead
Happy 89th birthday, you screwy duck. Here's a clip from one his best films where he's up against a guy with a pen who screws him over in every sort of way imaginable.
Cartoon: "Duck Amuck" (1953, Chuck Jones)
Lisa asking Bart about digging in their backgarden. The Simpsons S13E3 "Homer The Moe"
Bart's digging. Don't know why, but he's just digging.
Also, S12 is done. Bit of an improvement over S11 though I wouldn't call it great as one half consisted of middling episodes.
Same, it's the one episode I remember being aired every now and then back then and one that stuck to me since I saw it for the first time.
Lisa showcasing her grammar robot, Linguo, to Homer to present at the school science fair. The Simpsons S12E18: Trilogy of Error
Trilogy of Error is the best S12 episode and is a really good idea for an episode. Have three different plots play in the same timeline (Homer, Lisa and Bart) and have all of them come together in the end.
I think it may be due to Homer being worse than himself with one episode where he tranquilizes Marge at the end of an episode and especially the killing of Maude Flanders.
Party Possum and NSYNC meeting for the first time. The Simpsons S12E14 "New Kids on the Blecch"
Another classic I remember seeing aired as a kid and one I still like watching.
So far, the first half of Season 12 is a lot stronger than the first half of 11. Highlights include Skinner's Sense of Snow, The Computer Wore Menace Shoes and HOMR.
"I can't believe I'm meeting Milhouse!"
Ah nice, a French romantic-comedy film. I'll probably have to find a copy with English subtitles though.
Behind the Laughter title The Simpsons S11E22: "Behind the Laughter"
Given BlueSky is back, given I mention that I'm now halfway complete in Season 12 and on Worst Episode Ever rn.
Oh and S11 was a slight improvement over 10 imo. First half was great, but the last half had some duds, except "Behind the Laughter". That was a great turnaround to end the season.
This short was released 30 years ago today and won an Oscar for it. The animation does look rough, but charming to look at. The scores used are Herb Alpert's "Tijuana Taxi", and his more iconic "Spanish Flea" score.
Cartoon: "A Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Double Feature" (1966, John Hubley)
Flanders is in his new skintight skiing uniform and says he feels like he's wearing nothing at all. From The Simpsons episode: "Little Big Mom" (S11 E10)
Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!
