This piece wasn't inspired by anything specific. I drew a gloomy setting that suited my OC and used the relatively distinct shapes of the moon, lotus flowers, and lotus leaves to create the overall atmosphere.

Amidst the scorching heat of summer The sound of forest insects buzzed loudly, ceaseless even for a single second. Sunlight streamed through the bamboo grove, creating shimmering stripes of light that danced with the breeze. The lone ronin raised a hand to wipe a large bead of sweat from his forehead, shifting his body into the shade of a tree. His faithful old sword was belted at his hip, a worn canvas satchel slung over his shoulder. The sun in mid-April was scorching, capable of robbing a beastman life. Murakumo was considered a skilled swordsman. His body, stout and strong, had endured arduous training, countless sleepless nights, and battles where death loomed close. Yet, he still stood firm as a mountain. But even so— It itched Since that incident which forced him to wander the forest, he'd had almost no chance to clean himself. The clammy sweat that matted his fur and skin brought about a discomfort hard to bear. Particularly beneath his arms—where the fur was thickest He squinted, looking towards the bushes ahead. There were no enemies, no danger. Only the cool shadow of the foliage and a small, shallow water source below. Should he find a moment to rest, he'd have to quickly attend to this bothersome issue before it undermined his concentration during a fight.
