Each year, we observe Yom HaShoah (#Holocaust Remembrance Day) to honor the millions who were killed during the Holocaust or held captive in Nazi concentration camps.
We remember their lives and commit to making sure that such atrocities are never repeated.

Happy 96th birthday to a true labor legend, Dolores Huerta!
A trailblazer in every sense, Dolores has spent her life fighting for farmworkers, civil rights, and women’s rights and she continues to stand strong. It’s an honor to stand alongside you in the fight for justice.
Happy birthday, Dolores.
Happy birthday #DoloresHuerta!
At 96, Dolores continues to fight every single day for the rights of all Californians. Her courage, strength, and dignity are a testament to her #SiSePuede mentality and she remains a true inspiration, today and always.
Child neglect is the most common form of child maltreatment. This month—and every month—we must continue shining a light on awareness, prevention, and protecting children. If you suspect a child has been, or could be, facing abuse or neglect, please speak up!

California's farmworkers feed the world. Today, we celebrate #FarmworkersDay to recognize their work that embodies the California spirit and their organized movement that fought for human rights & worker protections.
Last week, the #CASenate approved #AB2156 to designate March 31 as #FarmworkersDay.
This movement has always been about the farmworkers toiling in the fields across #CA to put food on tables across the world. Today and always, we stand in solidarity with the farmworker movement.
The #CAStateSenate has adjourned for spring recess and will return on Monday, April 6.

Books build opportunity. 📖
On Read Across America Day, I’m proud of the work we’ve done through SB 321 (2023) to connect California students with local libraries and literacy resources.
#ReadAcrossAmerica
#ReadAcrossAmericaDay – originally started in 1998 as a way to encourage children to read – helps set kids across California on the pathway to literacy, beginning with story time in the classroom. What book will you read? What was your favorite book as a child?
Today, on Japanese Internment Day of Remembrance, I want to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. A unit formed nearly entirely of Nisei, second-generation Japanese Americans from Hawaii and internment camps across the mainland.
During WWII, 120,000 Japanese Americans were forced into internment camps. Today – and always – we recognize the lasting impact on the #JapaneseAmerican community & commit to continue fighting against injustice.

As Ramadan begins, I send warm wishes to all who are observing. This season highlights reflection, generosity, and community, values that bring us together and inspire care for one another. Wishing peace and renewal to all.
While crews reduce fuels on the landscape, Californians can take action at home:
• Prepare a family evacuation plan
• Maintain defensible space around your home
• Harden your home against embers
Reducing wildfire risk takes action at every level.

Today is #AshWednesday, the start of Lent. Today reminds us to pause, reflect and reset.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson, whose life and leadership shaped our nation’s ongoing journey toward equality. He was a voice for the voiceless, an advocate for those too often left out, and a servant to the oppressed worldwide.
Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧✨
Lunar New Year is a time of renewal, family, and hope for the year ahead – and it reflects the rich cultural heritage of Asian American communities who have helped shape our nation
