Huge no. Starfield is a lifeless slog. Bethesda has learned nothing and actively gotten worse with their recent releases.

Ah, Grandia. What a classic.
Utena is great and this piece is stunning. Beautiful work.
Best Star Trek crew. Wrong answers only.
Five books to get to know me by, three from young me, two from adult me:
1. The Talisman - King and Straub
2. Imajica- Barker
3. The Lamp from the Warlock's Tomb- Bellairs
4. Between Two Fires- Buehlman
5. Perdido Street Station- Mieville
This isn't even getting into visibility issues. Just the sheer amount of drek flooding the machine has clogged it. Visibility is a nightmare though. Just trying to get a book seen, trad or indie, is exponentially harder now with a million AI slopfests getting pumped out every month.
Author here. I've never used AI in the creative process and never will. I will succeed or fail on my merits. AI is making it tough because Amazon (and others) are now flagging legit books as problematic because the AI slop is overwhelming them and sending out false positives.
One thousand percent
One of my guys Missed a shot with 93% to hit at point blank range, then got blasted by some chode nailing me through cover from across the map
Fucking bullshit 10/10 will play non-stop this weekend
Yeah I guess hold it until you can get to a toilet.
Also that should be “HOLY SHIT” but I got excited and made a typo
Please do not hold your shit, that is unsanitary
Holy damn YES
It really irks me when critics start personally targeting readers and authors as having something wrong with them for enjoying LitRPG. It's fucking harmless. Even if you think it's the dumbest shit in the universe, enjoying a story with video game systems is not an indicator of character. Fuck off.
It's literally something every genre has had to go through. SciFi, Fantasy, Horror, etc, all got shit talked and relegated as "lesser" and "slop" and "the downfall of literature" and so on. I'll be the first to admit the genre has its share of bad books, but some critics go way over the line.
Discord is probably your best bet. I have a server here that is modestly active, mostly people talking about TTRPGs, video games, and whatever they're reading: discord.gg/aUE7zU2
There's quite a few larger channels as well for the genre, but the LitRPG tag here on BS is active as well!
XENONAUTS 2 FINALLY LAUNCHES HOLD SHIT
I backed this kickstarter back in 2017
I'm happy for the dev team! Downloading it now babbbbyyyyy
Mmma-haaaahhhhhh
Not the primary theme, but anti-colonialism and the long-term affects of a colonist society are a big part of the ongoing story in my LitRPG series.
Damn this looks weird as hell (and great!)
A bookTokker known as Tales with Atticus just did a super kind review and giveaway for my book over on TikTok!

Dread Delusion looks so fucking rad. I love all the weird little guys in it.
Yeah. I just figured he was the same guy from photos he posted years ago. RIP Midnight. You were a good dude.
Agents have been saying portal stories never sell since the early 2000s. It's nonsense.
It still might not be a genre for you, and that's totally cool! But I promise there's more to it than JUST Solo-Leveling and that type of thing.
While there's a lot of shallow power fantasies, some of it is actually good and has something to say beyond just "Haha, power go up make happy." Dungeon Crawler Carl is pro-anarchist, anti-capitalist. My series is anti-colonialist, pro-self actualization & diverse community building.
I didn't care for SL that much. It's just a single idea (number go up feel good) shaved down to a single point. There's some satisfaction from watching it, but I lost interest pretty & forgot almost everything about it within a day or two. Shallow fun but no lasting impression. Pure popcorn.
I saw $18 mil and my first thought was "That's it?!"
Also why is your coat buttoned when you're SITTING DOWN UGH
I actually do like whiskey and cigars, but I tend to enjoy them privately, and to relax. The idea of doing this on a sound stage in front of people is fucking cringe and weird. You're in an interview! You look like a fucking clown doing this shit.
