Second EZ ride of recovery week down. Was nice to do it outside and just noodle around town. Average HR of 106 and IF of 53%! Super easy. Feeling refreshed. For once it actually felt like a recovery ride.

I end up writing a bunch of post ideas in a notebook and it just sort of morphs into a journal entry
It'll make a good US CSB report.
Was disappointed that they're an autonomous vehicle company and also using AI for coding, but I guess that's a sign of the times.
Second C++ interview went a lot smoother. It was troublesome that they didn't want my code to actually run, so I couldn't use TDD to build up the thing.
But we got it done and they were satisfied with the result.
Love the nails!
Worst part was my laptop actually crashed in the middle! Fans started spinning up, OS ground to a halt. Restarted and it was fine. But boy, not a great look.
First c++ interview went better than my last one several years ago!
They started with a basic problem using C++20 syntax, and in my ignorance I kept finding new ways to break the syntax. But in the end I wrote the constructor I wanted and just used that.
For someone who is used to C++03, I did ok
And it's the one I was looking forward to as well.
On the plus side, I still have other interviews in the works, so if this all falls through I will have options.
But damn this uncertainty right now feels awful.
Waiting for Large Company to take forever to tell me no on a job offer has meant another place which was willing to write me an offer is now in the middle of interviewing other candidates.
They may still, but it sucks that this went from a sure thing to a maybe.
I never got the mindset of people who put on fragrances before going to the gym.
So warm and fluffy!
The interview where he does "the face" without makeup is proof
Calling company 2 hours away that I'm withdrawing because we can't justify the move to be closer.
Them: "Well what if you were remote?"
Me, pulling my hair out because they literally never mentioned that as an option: "Still no."
Some of my favorite photos from the 2026 Berkley Criterium.
Camera mostly behaved. My shots got better as the day went on, when I realized what I was enjoying and what was working. I should have brought by 70-300 instead of my default 18-200.
Had a good time. Will have to do another soon.
Also wild pigs! There were like 10 piglets and big momma.
3 hour EZ ride was perfect! Felt great even after yesterday's group ride.
Shout out to the woman walking 3 dogs without leases yelling at me to slow down on the multiuse trail. One of us was a hazard, and it wasn't me!
Bike
I always thought being able to learn or play by ear only was way more impressive. But that's as someone who only knew how to read sheet music.

Instantly bought!
Update: You could not even tell!
Making pizza for dinner, and accidentally left the dough to proof on a burner (off but still warm!) I had been using for sauce. The residual heat over proofed the dough and even slightly baked the bottom.
So pulled off the tiny crust, and we'll see what happens with the rest!
The Free Speech Coalition is serious about starting an adult industry credit union. Part of this is being able to show regulators that enough people would use it, so please fill out this form if you're interested!
(Yes, credit unions can issue credit cards!)

She got it and she KNOWS it
Group ride went excellent! Didn't get dropped. Well, I did, but for once I was actually able to find the last group up point at the coffee stop.
Very surgy ride, as always, but I was ready for them this time! I really need to work on my standing power, my glutes are killing me!
Extra important!
This place is worth it!
Astounding!
Used a spoon to deseed some chilies. And then accidentally used that same spoon to stir honey into tea. Extra hot!
