That I didn't know! I knew that Falk wasn't the first choice, but I thought NBC didn't decide to order a series until after the Prescription: Murder movie.

The funny thing is it's missing the *actual* first and second Columbos. Bert Freed originated the role in a 1960 Chevy Mystery Show episode, then Thomas Mitchell (Uncle Billy from It's a Wonderful Life) played him in the stage adaptation, Prescription: Murder.

These moments of connection, getting to know the best of people if only for a second, are wonderful and valued.

This may sound corny, but I had a brief genuine moment with a group of people on the other side of the Portal on the way to work and it made my morning. They waved to me, I made a heart hand gesture and they did it back. I didn't notice exactly where they were from, but I don't think it matters.

Of course I did.

I've gotten really into watching Grand Sumo highlights lately.

These first two offices (OCS and OTPS) do a lot of cross-cutting strategy for NASA, coordinating and aligning science and technology approaches across the various centers and directorates. OTPS also works on national space policy and NASA's economic impacts.
