Imagine Doom (the videogame), you know, the doom game you've always known. You walk, you grab the shotgun, shoot at some baddies. You run, shoot, maybe unlock a secret area. You can imagine it, right? Well, this is the thing. Now you have Doom running in your brain. Doom runs freaking everywhere. :D

That is, one can think that there are unanswered questions worth asking without thinking that it is damaging to enforce vaccines, and one can also think the facts are generally clear without thinking that asking legitimate concerned questions is dangerous. Coupling the answers this way is leading.

The phrasing of this question is extremely bad; it asks you to pick between two sets of blanket statements that aren’t necessarily hand-in-hand, and the pro-vaccine position is framed as requiring unquestioning loyalty. It reads to me as though it was designed to get this outcome.

I’m definitely not contending that this case is easy to understand; I’ve probably spent more time than is healthy trying to fix this exact issue. Unfortunately, it’s pretty entrenched, and trashing the current spellcasting process and starting over wouldn’t really be worth the gains here. #WotCstaff

This is also a confusion kind of endemic to static abilities. Understanding why “Elf creatures have trample” stops working if a creature stops being an Elf, but “Target Elf creature gains trample” keeps working in that case (after it’s resolved) requires a strong knowledge of rules. #WotCstaff

Right. This interaction (and Lier’s) tend to be pretty unintuitive for people. Unfortunately, they’re fallout of a system for casting spells that works intuitively *most* of the time. #WotCstaff

That shouldn’t work, so it seems like it might be a bug. I’ll pass that along to the Arena team to investigate. #WotCstaff

One of the Artemis astronauts stood up immediately after splashdown and started collecting his carryon bags even though he was seated in the back row of the capsule.

What do you wanna make the cute lil guy an outlaw for?! 🥹

Off the top of my head, I’d expect it to be simultaneous, though looking at the devour rules, there may be some ambiguity that needs to be cleaned up. #WotCstaff

Because all replacement effects need to exist before the event occurs (in this case the event is entering), it doesn’t count creatures that will be devoured as that creature is entering. #WotCstaff

One point the mechanics article glossed over: A resolving spell with paradigm is always exiled. This matters for the second and subsequent card with any given name. Even though that spell isn't setting up any new copies, the card is still exiled. The reminder text is clear, hopefully. #WotCstaff

Yes, yes, and neither a prepare spell nor being prepared is an ability, so neither is lost if all abilities are lost. The release notes will have more details, so watch for those. #WotCstaff

The color of a prepare spell counts as part of a card’s color identity. #WotCstaff

Sometimes that’s all feel you can do.

Soon they’ll make AI to play the games they’re having AI make.
Like, I wish that were a wholly unbelievable statement, but we’ve already passed “social media for AI agents,” so at this point nothing shocks me.

With more steps, sounds like.

Don’t need a better reward system… need smaller cups.

I’m on vacation from work right now, but that certainly shouldn’t be the case. We don’t want thing like copy effects intended for the battlefield to function in other zones. I’ll have to review that with the team when I return and see if we might need some updates of some kind.

This is so relatable oh my god

To matter, we’d need to be unsure whether the last sentence of 613.6 is invoked; I think we’d need an ambiguously worded static ability with effects that apply in one of the first five layers also layer seven. No examples spring to mind, but the answer is probably “yes, it’s invoked.” #WotCstaff

I don't think 616.1g applies to any of these situations. Clone's effect must be applied first, per 616.1c. You may choose between the other two, per 616.1e. That can produce weird results for sure. #WotCstaff

This a really good practice. “Might be good enough” placeholder names tend to last far too long before anyone replaces them in my experience. Also… people use AI for this? Really?

Game Design’s intent here is that you must choose two creatures or no creatures. We’re aware of the issues with this card’s template; it has a planned update to its text in the Oracle database, which will be visible with the next set’s release, to better reflect that intended function. #WotCstaff

That TODO note is so relatable.

Yes this works, but it's fair to say that both of those rules could stand to be reworded so it doesn't sound like they're trying to get around copy effects. Thanks for pointing that out! #WotCstaff
