Partnering with MEDIN has given new visibility and momentum to the vital work of the UK’s biodiversity monitoring community, represented by the Healthy and Biologically Diverse Seas Evidence Group (HBDSEG).

With funding now exhausted, the data is being transferred to The Crown Estate to ensure continued accessibility and usability. The datasets now published on the Marine Data Exchange are Multibeam wreck surveys.

Most of the data, gathered under the SEACAMS and SEACAMS2 projects, supports the offshore renewables sector. Initially funded by SEACAMS and later SEEC, iMarDIS aimed to make this data available through an online portal for the Welsh marine renewables sector.
iMarDIS - Integrated Marine Data and Information System
The iMarDIS Data Repository, curated by Bangor University’s School of Ocean Sciences, contained datasets collected through various European Union and UK government-funded research projects, primarily focusing on the Irish and Celtic Seas.
