Like the idea of a grumpy leader character could be really fun and interesting but they play it too straight and don't give her many redeeming qualities so she comes off as unlikeable.

Honestly I wish they gave Lanolin SOMETHING. She really didn't have a chance.

They did what they do with most modern Sonic stuff nowadays, they take an interesting idea and the do the most generic thing with it and I think that's a bit of a shame.

Not only that, but I hate that they tried to redeem her. We've never had a recurring female villain who can match Sonic and his abilities, but they threw it away as soon as possible in favour of her wanting to be a hero. It just made her very uninteresting to me...

The idea of an anti-Sonic is great. But the problem with Surge is that she's a foil to a character that doesn't exist. She's the antethisis of IDW Sonic, who isn't a very good depiction of Sonic IMO. So the only way she can function is if Sonic is written incorrectly...

I don't know if I'd call it a grudge. I think a lot of people assume I hate IDW just for existing but I don't. The reason I dislike it so much is because it has good ideas but never takes advantage of them. Surge is a perfect example...

It's not really my thing, it's nice that so many people have made mods for it though. I'm always down for games that allow people to get creative.

And that Dave PhantomArcade is a funny fella.

It wouldn't be anything too crazy. Just make Amy more spunky and agressive and Sonic more uncomfortable. Have Sonic owe her a date if he loses or something, stuff like that.

Well "written correctly" is the real trick there isn't it? Honestly any pair could be great if they were written well. I'm curious to see how Rouge and Catwoman interact since Ian usually writes Rouge really well. I also think Amy meeting Harley Quinn could be really neat.

I was there at the beginning. I had a huge FNAF phase in high school and I still check in on the series from time to time.

Well she's not really up to much, so I doubt she'd change too much. She'd still have all her royal resonsibilities and I'm sure she'd still be quite pampered. I don't know much about DnD, but she'd probably be the leader type, the kind to make plans and organise everyone else.

Canon is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe Rouge looked like that once and we just never saw it. Go nuts.

I don't even like classic exe stuff. It clearly has its audience so if you enjoy it, more power to you, but it's not my thing.

IDW does have characterisation issues though so your made up guy may be on to something.

Nah that's dumb. I'm just A fan who likes what he likes. I like to analyse the things I like and pick apart why they strike a chord with me. Archie, IDW and the movies are just as valid as the games, all I ask is that you factor in the source material when discussing the series.

Not my thing, but go for it. They have enough similarities to make it interesting.
