Looking through the @recordstoredayuk.bsky.social posts and second day availability I still haven't seen a Modern Eon or a House Of Love. Were these actually released on the day? #recordstoreday #rsd2026

Up early to head to Newcastle for @recordstoreday and came away with a range of stuff from @rpm_newcastle and Beatdown. Didn't manage to get Modern Eon but happy with everything else, all on the list. Lovely atmosphere in the queues and some nice conversations #rsd #vinyl
Utterly horrendous. It's difficult to know where to begin with this pish. High heels and mini skirts for our female athletes...not sure if this is the new look for Tenants Cans or the for the launch of a sports team
You think high heels and mini skirts are the way forward for female athletes? It's horrific and embarrassing on so many levels
I keep finding things mum cut out of the paper. I think this may very well have been the most heartfelt. Dad was a nightmare with a broadsheet in his hands
Remembering Glen Baxter whose death was announced last week. A signed copy of his 1986 book from an event at the University of York bookshop Still makes me smile
Slow and steady progress. The pod now has power and external lighting. Flooring soon, then the furniture then stuff...lots of stuff
A couple of shelves of very random books to be sorted, principally into read and not read. Of the read ones there are some of my favourites in there #bookgram
With Artemis II on it's journey to the the far side a reminder that Apollo 8 did it first as documented on this fantastic Public Service Broadcasting song. Has me on the edge of my seat every time www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8Ll...
Following on from the Moby album the best use I have heard of 'Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad' was soundtracking Barney Gumble as MacDuff in Rick Miller's 'MacHomer'. It was surprisingly moving
Today's random selection from my collection starts with this. Not the most popular as he continues to prove himself to be an arse but I do still really like this album so I'm doing the distancing the person from the work here
I keep coming across old photos in various places. This was in one of my dad's old card holders and I have become fascinated by it. The bloke on the left looks like my dad and the boy looks like me when I was 3 or 4 but the picture looks far too old for that to be the case
God knows he can be problematic but just listened to this from 2004 for the first time in ages and it's really a very good album. His voice sounds great and the band are excellent
I'm getting 'apart from that did you enjoy the show Mrs Lincoln' vibes in this excerpt from a Christmas Card my mum received in 1974 (it has to be said it was rather nice that the daughter of someone she cleaned for sent her a card after emigrating)
Not sure there' a more deathless phrase used by football fans than 'we go again' after a defeat?
Mark Chapman following it with a compelling. Yes, it's really that grim
Gary Neville 'That wasn't boring it was intriguing'. Intriguing has always been commentator speak for utter tedium and that was utterly tedious #ARSMCI
You might want to dig out your tiny violin before reading this
'Identify as dog parents' ...🤮How the fuck did we get to this
Now that the wind finally seems to have dropped this one yellow daffodil should be able to continue to lord it over all others and I should no longer be filling a vase with broken flowers #daffodils #spring
I'm randomly trying to listen to everything In my collection, a long job, and consequently rediscovering long lost gems. This is the only album by The Moth & The Mirror from 2011 and it is fabulous - dark indie folk rock, or something
Rescue narcissi. You can almost guarantee that the minute the daffs are in full splendour we get wind, rain and cold to batter them to the ground #spring #flowers #daffodils
Just heard a snippet of Hue & Cry covering 'Crazy In Love'. I'm not sure my ears will recover from Pat Kane channeling Beyonce. Quite possibly the worst thing I have ever heard
To be fair the Scottish media are using the exact same definition. If I was excusing them it would be to say that it is done to emphasise the extent of the disruption. If I was being unfair I would say it's typical Weegie exceptionalism
Feels like the Pirie series is in decline. Several overlapping investigations none of which really engage. Rushed conclusions. Clunky political statements which offer nothing to plot or character
There are few funnier sights in football than a supposed 'big' team being utterly shite #TOTCRY
It's hard to see past 'The Universal'
It's all change in the back garden, lovely potting shed and garden room installed today (fair bit of reorganising and tidying to do)
