If she had proof she wouldn't be behind bars - she'd have blackmailed him into a pardon long before now.

Used to have a mate I would sometimes go for a pint with of a weekday evening and we could quite happily sit there for a good 20 minutes without exchanging a word. I miss that.

If you turn up in your civvies and then don't get the grade you wanted, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering what would have happened if...

There's a very dubious Douglas Bader gag in there somewhere.

Saves him the bother of regularly attending Confession, I guess. Plus Mass on Sunday, at which I'm sure he was a regular attendee.

Indeed. The pain of a kick on the kneecap playing footy in the park as a kid could have been run off in a couple of minutes. These days I get pains just going downstairs.

This is an impact injury, according to the physio. He's prescribed leg muscle strengthening exercises which I've been doing for a while but they've not had much effect.

I enjoy the run, much better than swimming which I always find tedious. Swimming is probably better for my knees though.

Breathing not great either. Managed a slow 5k without stopping last time out, but crap this time. Not like me to give up having made the start line, probably need to rest up a few weeks then gently work my way back. Frustrating.

Pulled up after less than 500m at Parkrun today. I've had worsening knee problems for a while and despite taking painkillers before setting out I immediately knew I should stop. I'm 60, old age is creeping up on me. Doesn't feel good.

Yes, I've travelled widely across the US in the past but absolutely zero plans to go whilst this orange gimp is in charge.

Ha - I saw Ross Noble live a few weeks back. He name-dropped Thora Hird into a riff, and had to break to explain to anyone under 50 in the audience who Thora Hird was. His explanation being that "she was the Bonnie Blue of her day..."
