Dang chocolate prices are out of control! Look at that shrinkflation! 😭.

Not sure if you tried these ones yet but Hershey’s Eggies with Whopper cores have been my jam this Easter.

I should re-read dead moon. Been a while. Your books are always enjoyable even after a few reads.
Stories hold up well & characters are always so interesting.

Been re-reading the latest book recently while I wait for other books to come out. Still finding new little details I missed on 1st read

The cover for DEAD MOON by Peter Clines, showing a very large domed base on the bleak surface of the Moon with the Earth off in the distance above the horizon.

The cover for DEAD MOON by Peter Clines, showing a very large domed base on the bleak surface of the Moon with the Earth off in the distance above the horizon.

For no reason whatsoever now felt like a good time to remind you I wrote a book about the Moon. DEAD MOON is a fun, happy story about carefree people who love their job and their coworkers and nothing ever goes wrong and they all live happily ever after.

Oh, there may also be a few zombies.

50 Reasons Why Everyone Should Want More Walkable Streets From making you live longer to making cities more resilient: If you want a reason to make your city more walkable, it's in here.

“Someone with a 1-hr car commute needs to earn 40% more to be as happy as someone with a short walk to work. On the other hand, if someone shifts from a long commute to a walk, their happiness increases as much as if they’d fallen in love.” #UrbanTruth in @fastcompany.com

Shorter, more frequent GO train plan ‘unlikely to materialize’: leaked document Metrolinx locked into agreements for trains it no longer needs, draft fleet strategy says

New: Metrolinx's plan to run more frequent, shorter GO trains is now “unlikely to materialize” after it fired the European partners who planned to make it happen, according to a draft of the agency's internal fleet strategy.

I live close to a rail line (different one), idling for up to 2hrs seems excessive. 2019, kind of curious if things has improved, perhaps with scheduling so they wait shorter times or faster approvals to use the section of track. Thanks for sharing. That is an aspect I had not thought about too

Maybe? It could also be both? I think the only people who would be able to answer that definitely would be the people who installed the equipment. Either situation is not ideal, over high trains or unexpected fright train while
ion is in on the same section. Not sure who would be the official to ask

But it is not at the same time, and there is a derailer installed at William street crossing to prevent mixing.

It is late night though, midnight-ish.

Technically it does, freight trains use the LRT track at night in uptown on the Waterloo spur. Had to wait for it to slowly creep down the track. (And CN broke one of the IONs switches a while back and it has been a slow zone so I hear)

FIRST TIME IN KITCHENER-WATERLOO! YouTube video by PinkyThumb

Newly minted transit Youtube from Hamilton comes to KW to ride the ION and enthuse about the city. It's quite charming, really.

Charles Street Terminal is our opportunity to be bold.

To do things differently, we must look at ways of retaining public ownership and set affordable & non-market housing targets.

That’s why I was happy to have Committees support today in asking staff to come back with options to do just that.

Held up to the light. (Ignore the large penguins lack of actual amber glass, I made a change late in the game and didn't have a chance to pick up more glass... deadlines).

❄️🐧❄️New penguin stained glass patterns just waddled in!❄️🐧❄️

Two forms: one smaller ornament sized, and one larger more angular. Larger one could also be a mirror.
(Not pictured. Idea came after completed...)

I use to have a couch with the same color and type of materials…. That design is wild, not sure what is going on near the waist. Curious what the pattern looks like, must have some odd seams.

Waiting for the train: Why Kitchener still lacks all-day GO service It’s a question every Waterloo Region commuter has asked while stuck on a packed GO bus or waiting in the cold at Kitchener GO: “why don’t we have reliable two-way, all-day GO train service to Toronto...

We’re thrilled that there’s now some weekend trains from Kitchener, but what’s the hold up for the all-day frequent GO trains? We dive in here:

Kitchener Trolleybus Gallery Many readers of this site have been posting photos of the ION LRT construction in Kitchener-Waterloo over the past years. Normally, I stick to Toronto news, but as a gift back to readers in K-W, he…

For the KW transit & history nerds — @swanboatsteve.bsky.social took some great photos in 1973 of the last of the Kitchener Public Utility Commission trolleybuses. Surprisingly many places are still recognizable

I was thinking the same thing! 😅

Could make one huge s’more! 🤤

This is a great example for people who dismiss transit and promote idea that the future of transit is self driving cars picking you up from your door and dropping you off at your destination. Traffic is traffic. Self driving cars will not fix traffic. People choosing alternatives to cars will.

Heh. Yeah, realistically we’ll probably just get dustings till the real snow in January. I miss the snow that stayed by this point in the year. Makes the nights less dark as lights of the city and the moon reflect off the snow. ⛄️

Pretty pictures! The shiny pavement and all those store fronts bring the city to life, specially with the limited seasonal sunlight this time of year. Plus always a joy to seeing the TTC Streetcars. 😊
