A total outage of TTC subway elevators today prompts me to look at station elevating services generally. The status is less than ideal. stevemunro.ca/2026/04/20/u... If riders cannot get to and from platforms, then the subway, for them, does not exist.

Ride the Loop, Close the Gaps! Today was another ride organized by TCBC to publicize the potential of a 78 km loop of safe bike trails around the city, and also drawing attention to the gaps in the route. There was an earlier edition of the ride last November that looked at the southern portion of the loop. The weather forecast for today was pretty decent, and we had quite a large crowd at the start point which was Fix Coffee and Bikes at the Well.

Ive avoided this for so long but it kept popping up and today especially—so I clicked on a 30-sec clip of the guy on Australian 60 Minutes and maaaaaaan that was rough. He just looks so nervous and uncomfortable.

Church Street plan could make The Village pedestrian-friendly this summer | CBC News A new proposal at city hall could see part of Toronto’s Gay Village closed to cars this summer. Supporters say the plan would boost local businesses and create more space for people to gather.

Thank you @tyrcheese.bsky.social for covering the Church Street Pedestrianization plan as well!

Always happy to talk about creating safer and vibrant streets!

I’ve only heard it a handful of times and it’s been in a “telling people about myself, here is my secret power, I am one of Dr. Xavier’s special students.” In some cases I think the people are just sensitive and not great at emotional regulation!

There’s no such thing as being an empath
You’re just feeling empathy for someone (normal, not unique) or you’re projecting (get over yourself, you don’t have magical powers)

A lineup of people for via trains at Union station.

No, via rail is not ok. The trains between Montreal and Toronto consistently sell out not because they're good, but because for many, they're the best of only bad options.

What is the deal with drivers who keep rolling towards you when you're crossing the street?? Drivers, if you're planning on *not* hitting someone with your car, don't drive your car at them!
