It’s not rendering the main content, only custom channel types that are written by third party developers. The main content is rendered “natively”. Chat is native, sidebar is native, only CUSTOM user-developed channels are rendered by a browser.

I find it very stupid that "native" just means "not a browser" given that they're all just abstractions to rendering pixels to a screen. The only "native" thing that explicitly comes with Windows is Win32 and whatever is in Windows 11 that Microsoft likes right now that'll get deprecated soon.

Root is a C# Avalonia app that embeds a Chromium instance for user-developed channel types. "native" is a moronic buzzword, but simultaneously if you subscribe to said moronic buzzword, the entire app is in fact native.
