It just provides some additional monitoring and fault prevention.
It wouldn't break anything if it stopped working because of an update. Worst case is that you be back to the point you are at now. It doesn't replace any of the software or firmware on your printer.
Honestly I'm not sure how often it updates. I run it in Docker and it's set up to auto update. I found it to be incredibly simple to setup and it seemed to work out of the box with very little fiddling required. I do think it's worthwhile to have if wasting filament (and time) is a concern.
Might I humbly recommend OctoEverywhere? octoeverywhere.com
It has saved me several times from waking up to filament spaghetti on my build plate.
He probably wouldn't be a politician were it otherwise. But on this occasion he is in the right.
This gentleman is representing Michael Martin's very well.
I don't care either! I subscribed to the digital edition of Wired today based on this article.
When they say "radical" left I just re-frame it in my mind as "Hey man, you are totally radical !". In this time of trouble, we are all Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Christmas night: "But Santa, you've hardly touched your Zardoz cookies."
I am so with you on this. My family usually has a really nice get together on the day of, but I would much prefer to do that minus all the pomp and gift exchanging. In other words, just a nice annual extended family dinner and visit.
American farmers don't want a bailout—they just want to sell their products without Trump's stupid tariffs destroying the market.
THOR runners laid out in PrusaSlicer
THOR mech in green
By popular demand, I added runners (AKA kit cards) to my THOR mech model. This should help make the print a little less daunting!
THOR and the rest of my Printables store are on sale through December 1st. Consider supporting me for Small Business Saturday! www.printables.com/@soozafone/s...
What I'd really love for Santa to bring me is a Prusa Core One+. The INDX upgrade comes out next year and promises virtually waste free multi-color printing by virtue of the individual hotends for each color.
I finally got around to installing my CoPrint KCM Set on my Sovol SV08 printer. I'm off to the races with multi-color printing. I'm not a huge fan of the purge tower waste, I try to mitigate that by using purge for infill or supports when I can.

It's already been done, and I have to say that they aren't as good as I remember them being when I was in school.
I'd definitely pay a monthly fee but only if it also included a way to blocklist the "creators" that flood those sites with AI generated garbage. Strangely NONE of the sites have that feature.
Imperceptible the change as our votes become mere gestures. And our lords and masters determine to cast us in the roles of serfs and slaves in the new empire's name.
Yes and every bloody emperor claims that freedom is his cause. As he buffs up on his common touch as a get-out clause. - Peter Hammill
That's good to know and I'm glad the plate survived. But that blemish will still be staring at me every time I print. UGH
The real tragedy is that this happened on the pristine other side, after I made the same mistake two days ago. I'm such a newb.
Nooooooo! My z-offset was NOT right. Well, that sucks. Not @sliceworx.com fault. #3dprinting
