Hope you enjoyed. Not bad 20k, massive stadium plenty of atmosphere and drama 2 top draw goals and a team with an average age of 21.9 years goes on to win

I’m just a normal guy running a business best I can. I’m far too tired to try to change the system, even if I could. I’m just frustrated that successive govts are making life harder and harder for people like me.

Sounds like you are going to have a heart attack 🤔

Jesus.Twitter full of right wing zealous, come on here and we’ve got the ones on the other side of the spectrum. To me politics is a circle, the further left you go,the closer you get to the far right. Each convinced they are right&unable to countenance why moderate people can feel the way they do .

Economics degree, accounting qualification and a lifetime of running a reasonably successful business, buying others, building others, employing hundreds in that time. I can make my own mind up about what I want to do with my business. 👍

Interesting that you say that. How many people do you employ ?

So, how many do you employ now ?

😂 I love how people like you think you know it all. Whilst people like me keep working and creating income and jobs and paying hundreds of thousands of pounds into the public purse. Fact is when we stop doing this there won’t be anything else to take our place.

10-20% of employees create 90% of the issues and make life so much more difficult for others. The law changes are going to make that even worse. At least at the moment we’ve got 2 years to sound someone out. Like I said, I can’t change it, but have absolutely no enthusiasm to try to grow

High. I’ve had 30 years of employing between 50 and 100 people . Most are great, but there’s also been a huge amount of piss takers over the years. I’m one of the most easy going people you’d meet, vote centre- left, but can see one after another engineering and manufacturing companies shutting down

All sounds like political fluff to me. I live in the real world. Whenever I see people spouting about neoliberals it sparks alarm bells with me. All I care about is being able to keep my factory going and keeping people in work. I could walk away tomorrow, but I realise a lot of people rely on me.

To be honest I was more confident against them as Luton are the type of physical side we e struggled against recently

No, I don’t. Never been a policy of ours, but I’m afraid I could take someone on in a few weeks and they’d go straight on the sick. Some good in the new laws, but also some dangerous .

All very good, but it doesn’t feel to me like ‘the system’ is rigged against the workforce. Quite the opposite for businesses like mine. In fact I’d say the system is rigged AGAINST manufacturing in UK and FOR importers. I’d need a few hours to go over a few examples.

There’s no shortage of demand for our products, we sell all over the world. Market leading in our little niche. It’s just becoming more and more difficult to control.

I was up in Blackburn watching the Bluebirds win away . Although I want Wales to win at everything I was fairly oblivious of the rugby yesterday ( thank God)

As an employer it will make me extremely reluctant to employ new people. It’s hard enough dealing with errant employees already.I’m at the point where I no longer want to grow the business. The last government and now this don’t give a shit about UK manufacturers. We’re a medium sized family business

He can’t make Putin make any concessions so he’s bullying Ukraine into what is effectively a surrender, just so he can claim he brought peace. But it won’t be peace as the Russians will continue to rape, torture and murder.

It was Nyakhuwa who got the goal. 👍

To be fair, when you want to find out about these things it’s always best to ask the experts 😉

And I pointing out that it doesn’t equate to military power. If it did then this war would have been easy to shut down straight away

There are things you can do in the background to aid it yes, but the defining actions are ultimately still boots on the ground as the Ukraine war is unfortunately proving

Fair point. 👍

Unfortunately the costs of running armed forces in these countries is far more than it is in Russia. Also the willingness to invest in military and also to fight seems to be lacking. There are also many competing agendas between the nations. This all needs sorting- and quickly

I think the rest of the world has to move forward without him and show him up clearly to his nation as being the one who’s the problem. So many Americans can’t yet see this because their media has been conning them for years ( like us with Johnson to a lesser effect)
