My new go-to pedagogical hack for teaching Saba Mahmood's "Politics of Piety" is to ask how we'd evaluate her argument if the whole book was written about Tradwives.
Definitely! I have a bunch of grad students from Comm in the class and they wanted to talk about how the digital media landscape reshapes our assessment of both groups. Also some discussion of whether Tradwives were "religious" in the way the Piety Movement was (and whether that mattered).
