What should I name my AI and data analytics company that builds platforms enabling governments and enterprises to integrate, analyze, and act on massive, complex datasets.
I’m thinking - something that is a metaphor for knowledge and power that outstrips wisdom or context. $PLTR
Gas price hikes could happen starting today/tomorrow for motorists in: NM, TX, IN, OH, MI, KY, SC, TN, FL (these are price cycling markets!)
Hmm.. so we should expect an uptick in national avg gas price trackers?
I find audiobooks very helpful in getting over the monotony of running.
Crazy to think oil tanker captains navigating the Strait of Hormuz are now getting the same message I get from restaurants at 9pm: “We’re open… but might be closed by the time you arrive.”
Riveting stuff.
“Nobody was hit harder than the suckers who filled their tanks mere hours before the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon caused the price of a barrel of crude to plunge 10%,” said Georgetown University economics professor Elizabeth Murphy
NPR announced $113 million from two charitable donors, including billionaire philanthropist Connie Ballmer, months after Congress voted to strip federal dollars for public media.

The freakout and the reversal.
TRUMP: BLOCKADE HAS STARTED - @reuters.com
The 5 stages of Hormuz grief:
Denial: ‘The Strait is not blocked’
Anger: ‘Open the Strait you bastards’
Bargaining: ‘We can put a toll on ships together’
Depression: ‘We are going to block the Strait’
Acceptance: $4.12/gallon (and climbing)
The threat of a naval blockade, after first threatening civilizational annihilation, is an almost welcome de-escalation. It’s like starting with a threat to break someone’s neck and then settling for just confiscating their lunchbox.
OMG Living next to a data center would be like having a giant dishwasher running a heavy cycle all the time. Except the dishwasher would actually be saving water.

NEW: As Feb PCE data confirms, the Fed had an inflation problem long before the Iran war
Progress toward 2% had stalled & ex-housing services inflation was stuck above a 20-yr avg of 2.7%, a backdrop that complicates rate decisions amid an energy shock

Inflation was looking like a problem even before the war. On a three-month annualized basis, PCE (both headline and core) topped 4% in February. Year-over-year core PCE is up 3%. And now the war will push prices higher. #NumbersDay
