A group of heavyset, sprawling Protoceratops stand amid a tangle of vegetation on a stony hill.
A striding stegosaur with a striking yellow and black pattern and low, squared-off plates.
Two red and blue Allosaurus with dumpy, pear-shaped torsos and slim but defined muscles tear into the carcass of some largely unseen green dinosaur.
A brown, sleek pterosaur with narrow and sharpely defined wings soars high above a sandy lagoon. A red crab struggles in its mouth and numerous other pterosaurs fly or walk about in the background.
Today’s four random pieces of palaeoart:
Zdenek Burian’s Protoceratops, Brian Franczak’s Wuerhosaurus, Richard Orr’s Allosaurus, and Michael Berenstain’s Pterodactylus!

Hex hepta is an enisferan from China that clades at the base of Hagliodea, making it a very important step in our understanding of sound production in enisferans much like it's relative Archaboilus musicus, why you ask? well... (2/4)

Its honestly fascinating and also kinda wonderful to see alot of paleoartist of your generation or the younger ones showing up so consistently in the conceptart department, for so many modern Paleo related projects. Especially the docs.

Screenshots of baby Ischiguastia and my concept art of it
As the time to talk #SurvivingEarth nears, I wanted to say that I’m extremely proud to have been part of the amazing team who worked on it
I was commissioned by Tim Haines (producer of Walking with Dinosaurs) and his team, to create the concept art for MANY animals for this project!

A Dromornis couple, a female with flowers and a male with a rock, and a Perucetus couple dancing together for valentines.
Ok one more Valentine’s post! (Mainly because the salsa version of “Die with a Smile” has been glued to my brain from the superbowl lol).

It’s apparently World Whale Day, so I introduce you to the Indo-Pacific finless porpoise. Supposedly, it can click up to 200 times/second to find prey in murky waters. There are other species of finless porpoise in the same genus, but all are threatened.

New art is arrived !
A large Yutyrannus is being cleaned up by a group of Hongshanornis. A curious Gegepterus approaches.
In the foreground, a Zhongjianosaurus seems interested in the small birds.

My cabbages!
An aurochs has broken into a vegetable garden. While curious kids and domesticated cattle watch, a courageous farmer attempts to chase it away.
This scene takes place in Poland around 1400 AD.

A scene depicting the Patagonian scrubland in the early morning, dotted with araucarias and framed by foggy mountains in the background. A pair of Macrauchenia, four guanacos and a patagonian mara are seen among the grass. A Megatherium walks by further away and a crested caracara flies over the scene.
Foggy morning in Late Pleistocene Patagonia.
