Canvassing table for COPE candidate Sean Orr and a hand giving a thumbs up
Volunteering with @copevancouver.bsky.social through this campaign was a special experience. @seanorr.bsky.social represents the best of our community - and people from all walks of life are coming together to support this movement that is just getting started
This is not a typical election win. An openly anti-zionist, pro-Palestine, socialist candidate getting a vote from over half of those who cast a ballot is a HUGE deal at any level of government in any western country. Feeling extremely proud of this community!
Just wow! Amazing work, Vancouver!! @seanorr.bsky.social on more than half the ballots cast! Huge thanks to all the @copevancouver.bsky.social volunteers. Don't you just love some socialism with your morning coffee? ❤️❤️ #EvictKenSim
Thank you to the people of Vancouver who showed up for democracy, despite everything.

“How are you going to be on city council and have this kind of attitude towards the most marginalized population in Vancouver?” - @seanorr.bsky.social
Police out of politics.

The discourse around this 4nations tournament has become insufferable. That said, I’m absolutely becoming a nationalist for just one night

Great crowd under the lights at the WISE Hall.
“This city belongs to us. Not billionaires. Not investors. Being in Vancouver means something to us, and we’re going to fight for it...We will fight you and your billionaire friends. And we will win.” - @seanorr.bsky.social

Vancouver is not just for the 1%.
Sean Orr is running for city council to stand up to the billionaires who buy politicians and elections, to fight to protect tenants, to fight for permanently affordable public housing, and to make Ken Sim’s life hard every single day.

Mixed emotions at the #Canucks game tonight - I’ll jump on the opportunity to boo the US anthem any time. But equally grossed out by the vigour of the canadian anthem. Can we just boo both settler colonial projects? Also, the game was awesome ✌🏻
Yes it was one of the lamest #Canucks games I’ve attended, but! it was worth it to hear (and contribute to) ken sim getting booed
This is one of the most moving things I’ve ever seen and one of the most symbolic depictions of America I’ve ever seen
The study suggests more than 64,000 traumatic injury deaths occurred in the Gaza Strip between October 7 2023 and June 30 2024, 41% higher than the number of deaths reported by the Palestinian MoH. 2/3

The IOF abducted 240 patients and staff from Kamal Adwan Hospital, including the Director of the hospital, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyeh.
They stripped naked people in the freezing cold, beat and sexually assaulted them, and have taken them to an unknown location.

This is a literal tribute to nazis. Tbh, can’t think of a more relevant symbol for this genocidal country
This is Joe Biden’s legacy:
Neoliberalism encapsulated
Will David Eby or Justin Trudeau retract their propagandic/genocide manufacturing statements about this? I think we already know the answer

In rough political moments, my kid pushes me to imagine bigger.
As I wrote: "If a 3-year-old can dream of cats building skyscrapers, dancing snowpeople, and melodies in the silence of aching grief, then surely, together, we can imagine—and build—a world without cages."

Trillionaires and tent cities.
This is the only future under capitalism, regardless of which ruling party is in charge.
Still new to this app but all that needs to be said for now is: Free Palestine 🇵🇸
