It's happening! 📢

On Tuesday, MPs will consider an amendment to enable local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. We need you to help us get this amendment on to the Bill.

Ask your MP to agree to Amendment 265 when it's considered on Tuesday: https://bitly.livingstreets.org.uk/4tMU2Uq

Modal Filters:

A "modal filter" is the highest ROI urban design tool on earth. By placing a physical barrier that lets bikes pass but blocks cars, you instantly stop drivers from using neighborhoods as high-speed shortcuts.

Twist of fate that saw dad killed by 90mph driver on Soho Road Hizar Hanif, 32, was killed instantly in the horrific crash

Mohammed Ali killed one person and injured several others while speeding at 90mph in a 30mph zone.

He’s been jailed for 7 years. Once released, he’ll be able to drive 4.5 years later.

What would you need to do to get a lifetime driving ban?

This is a great data visualisation.

It clearly shows why policy interventions that support/subsidise driving tend to not just miss an opportunity to reduce inequality, they are likely to entrench inequality, because those in the most deprived areas will derive the least benefit.

Adding to the list alongside increased threat of harm to those outside the vehicle not to mention the growing debt burden associated with the risky motor finance agreements needed for pricier vehicles.

There's a lot about German and Austrian train services that is better than Britain but DB only pay on delays over 60 mins and even then just 25%.

No apologies for arriving 22 mins late into Liege this evening.

I imagine around 1% of UK highway authorities are likely to deliver an wholly effective* LTN type scheme in the next eighteen months. Maybe fewer.

* No wholesale resident exemptions or one ways instead of point closures.

Mayor warns of London 'disinformation blizzard' on social media Sir Sadiq Khan claims London is being targeted with disinformation portraying it as a city

Londoners consistently vote for breathing cleaner air, yet negative online narratives about the clean air zone, have led to the criminal cutting down of cameras in outer London and terrifying use of explosives to blow up a ULEZ camera close to people's homes.

A tragic death should unite us in empathy—yet too often it exposes blame and division. We need a societal reset: the purpose of any journey is to arrive safely. Behind the wheel, dignity and humility matter—yet too many act with selfish dominance. Where else is risking others’ lives so prevalent?
