Lolz. I remember that story - it was near 16th and Mission. The “wrong part” of the city ie same place where tons of tech bros flooded to and Google buses overwhelmed the streets.

Agree to disagree on the first point; “Minneapolis” is more symbolic across the country & world than “Minnesota” in this context. I would hope that everyone in the state views “Minneapolis” as “us” similar to how the country viewed NYC as “us” after 9/11.

Complete agree on the second point, though.

You’re not wrong, but then where do you stop expanding the borders? Should it be the whole twin cities? The entirety of MN? The whole Midwest? USA?

The point is Minneapolis is symbolic, even if it isn’t literally all-inclusive of the effort, given the extremely visible killings and response there.
