Beat the Oni!! On hard... Took me like two hours but I did it! I was cheering out loud. What a fight! #GhostOfYotei

A 91-year-old grandmother was reported unresponsive, prompting a welfare check by police. When officers arrived, they found her in her room, busy setting a new personal record on a video game.

Storms finally moved through here in Illinois. I have a basement window that I covered with a tarp. It's been raining so much I don't even care how ugly it is

Not in my back, but in my neck (ACDF, C5-6) and my right big toe (MTP joint fusion). For my back I had a microdiscectomy, where they shave down bone spurs and the herniated disc.

The first back issues I had the injection didn't help and I needed surgery. Now it's on the other side and thankfully it makes it manageable. I remember you mentioned how you couldn't talk about it, so I'm glad you're managing!

Hope your back is feeling okay too. I had a nerve-blocking steroid injection a few months ago because of yet another herniated disc!

I'm 52. For me the writing/editorial collapse started with Great Recession in 2008 and never recovered. Newspapers shut down, magazines folded, ad revenue dried up. I had an editing career that died mostly because print did.

Fascinating post. Those of us in Gen X grew up literally learning technology as we went, adapting, changing, and suffering for it. I've lost my career twice: once to automation (2010) and then to technology (no one needs writers or editors anymore).

JB, we also have the highest property taxes in the nation, the highest gas tax, and the highest local taxes—especially in Chicago. Buying a home is one thing; we have a damn hard time actually *living* here!

I'm not going to look this up and go purely on memories... I think this is the promo for Season 6, right after the movie came out the previous summer (which I saw multiple times in the theater).

This is my favorite part of Season 2, which I'm glad we got but still is tonally off from Season 1.

Interestingly enough, when you get laid off life is also very much like this. Except with crippling desperation and anxiety.

Can you imagine having to play that guitar solo in front of Jimmy Page?? Amazing, and sad to see what we have lost because of one pathetic excuse for a president.
