The designs on that series are already pretty faithful to the comic which had a streamlined look, so I'm guessing it's the character with a lot of tight parallel lines in their comic form.

It’s exhausting how much people complain and nitpick about *everything* these days. Like you say, thought is important to criticism.

My rule is if most of their output is books on how to write rather than things they've got published its probably not worth it.

Art tutorials are similar. Lot of people being very confident without much to back it up.

front cover art for Knock's folklore bestiary, OSR version. it shows a trio of adventurers facing a tentacled monster which coils around the edges of the frame, bristling with eyes and pincers. the adventurers - a hooded rogue, a burly knight, and a short, haunted-looking wizard all group togehter, looking daunted.

ink drawing of a figure stabbed through the back by a sword. the sword is in red ink, the figure in black. the figure has a wizened, anguised face, and wears a shaggy cape and hood made from ragged reeds. they have long-nailed hands moving as if to clutch at the blade run through them.

An illustrated map, bisecting several interwoven grass basket buildings clinging to the side of a tree. Small animals like rodents, shrews and hedgehogs bustle around a busy market and show ground, while larger animals like birds peer in through skylights above. Smaller floral chambers are attached to the main hall, overflowing with wild flowers and each occupied by a colourful pageant competing butterfly.

There is a really interesting liminal period in about 1999-2003, mostly in comics, where people are trying to work out what the status quo is and what rhe prequels are actually about while excited by the expanded scope and vision.

He’s actually pretty versatile but it seems few people go out of their way to really utilise him. He day he’s going to have a big dramatic or comedic role and it’s either going to break him out or be seen as a fluke.

I remember going to a stand up show and got picked by the comedian to say what my favourite Transformer was. Said I didn't know much about it but I liked Springer and he just said "You know enough to know who Springer is"

I think it helps by format it’s got a natural place for the characters to grow into so doesn’t feel the need to retread old ground.

Smaller universities employ thousands, sell products to customers across the world and export British soft power. They are successful businesses, often bringing wealth to our poorer communities. Why does the government want to stop that? Why aren't more MPs fighting for them?

My medium-spicy take is it genuinely doesn't matter what most fandoms think and giving them weight and air is the pop culture internet's version of writing up what you saw wriggling under a nearby rock because you gotta spend 800 words and/or a thread of posts on SOMEthing
