1, 5 & 10 year change in disposable income for single income couple, 3 young children. 5 year case looks extra wild because it's showing the loss of the COVID supplement.

Austudy's design (?) gives some earners a choice about how much to earn to get a given disposable income. Eg, to get a disposable income of $50K they can earn either $36.7K or $67.5K.
Two different ways of showing this in chart form:

Might be better for a child support payer not to find a new partner, especially one that's unemployed and looking for work...

hadn't taken this one for a run for a couple of years:

Almost $7K range with EMTR >100%

Appears one needs to earn extra $32,500 just to get disp inc back to where it was when earning $47,500.

Magnificent stuff.

An update to my 1, 5 & 10 year series. This for a 3 child couple. Still looks nasty.

1, 5 & 10 years, this time for a couple with 3 young children.
Just to be clear, this is not the same family, it's the same type of family. Shows what's changed in the tax-transfer treatment of the family type.
