if you cannot let your oc look stupid, be silly or be wrong you haven’t unlocked the true torments for that mfer. i know you like angst but there are more Tribulations at your finger tips. it’s also good not to be too precious with them in general let that mfer step on a rake

nothing will ever compare to the pure ecstasy of looking at your own creation and going "holy fuck, did *I* draw this?!"
no matter the skill level or the medium (replace with sculpted/composed/wrote/etc). it's that joy of seeing a result you never expected from yourself that keeps most artists going

I said this to my friend last night and I think it's a good thing to think about:

If no one else, make art for your younger self. Make art of your ocs that your younger self would have dreamed to be able to draw. Make art that would make them keyboard smash an excited reply to. Make art for you.
