Calm down, most cows aren't 'killers' It's basic common sense: tread calmly and quietly, don't walk a dog near cows and don't go near their babies.

Me on cows

Every 12 months they kill five of us and we kill 2.8 million of them. Perhaps we’re the dangerous ones?

Pictured: The monkeys force-fed to test fat jabs The footage supplied to The Mail on Sunday was secretly filmed by a lab worker at two UK testing plants who said he was horrified the 'immense distress' the animals endured.

A lab worker at UK animal testing plants has shared footage of the hell - the hell - that animals go through there.

Giving up caffeine is a fool’s errand Everyone is giving up something these days. Even before this week’s flood of new year’s resolutions, we’re in the age of subtraction as people shed vices like old skins. Cigarettes, alcohol – those vi...

The pain and paranoia of the London Marathon Running the London Marathon is a life affirming experience – and that's even before the magical moment when you reach the finishing line

I wrote about the paranoia - or maranoia, if you will - of the final week before the marathon.

Out now: a very special episode of Jesus Christ They’ve Done It!

When I set out on this podcast odyssey six months ago, my biggest dream was to interview Mick Jackson, the director of Threads.

Well, sometimes dreams come true. Enjoy!

After five months and hundreds of miles, my training for the London Marathon is as good as over. Time to follow the example of this darling who I saw on today’s 12-miler.

A few people asked whether me getting the Mick Jackson interview means the podcast is finished.

Not at all! I’m taking a few weeks off because I’ve got a marathon to run, a book to finish writing and a dog to keep cuddling.

See you in May with some great guests. The odyssey continues!

Listening to this now and it's absolutely fascinating hearing about the making of Threads. I'd love to see the haunted looking portrait he used to keep in the garage. I hope it was documented before it sadly burned.

This is simply unbeatable. Well done @allthatchas.bsky.social. And a worthy tribute to the great man.

So much fun. I think the essential Britishness of the film was a big draw for me. The understated ‘let’s get on with it’ character of especially the city administrators in the bunker, or watching Ruth being slowly overwhelmed as her life plan dissolves.

Over the past few months, I’ve been training for the London Marathon, so most weekends I’ve been out running more than 20 miles at a stretch.
