Hier haben wir uns aus gegebenem Anlass ein kleines Späßchen erlaubt und eine Aufnahme des Mondes so verzerrt, dass er wie ein Osterei geformt ist.

+++ Soeben erreicht uns dieses Fotos von Bord des Orion-Raumschiffs. Der Grund für die eigenartige Verformung des Mondes wird zurzeit intensiv erforscht. +++

It's cold today on the 28th of December, but the sun has bathed the whole day in a wonderful soft light.

A clear night sky featuring the constellation Orion centered in a dense starfield. The prominent red star Betelgeuse is visible in the upper left as the shoulder of Orion, glowing distinctly with a reddish hue. Orion’s Belt, consisting of three closely aligned stars, is located near the middle of the frame. Below the belt, the Orion Nebula, a bright, hazy area in Orion’s sword, is visible. A faint galaxy, Meissa (or part of Orion’s “leg”), can also be seen near the lower region of the constellation.

Statue of Liberty is not unique to New York. In fact, there are quite a few statues scattered around the world. A famous replica in Tokyo is in front of the Rainbow Bridge.

The Rainbow Bridge is constructed with upper and lower decks, allowing for car traffic on the expressway and the regular road, the driverless Yurikamome line, and the Rainbow Promenade from Tokyo City to Odaiba.

On my trip to Japan in September 2022, I was amazed to see a Statue of Liberty in Tokyo Bay, on Odaiba Island, in Shiokaze Park. Odaiba in Tokyo is really worth seeing.
