you know how in manga magazines the editors or whatever will put like a cheesy vertical blurb at the start of every chapter like "what could possibly happen next?!?! [character] is really in a bind now!!!" they're so cheesy but i love them so much. that and the author notes at the start of a chapter

Or is it better left as an exercise to the reader? I don't think that CSM is meant to be a morality play. It strikes me more as a deeply personal piece of vent art. I also don't think we should judge a piece of art's worth by what the stupidest chuds alive have to say about it.

i think fandom has made people think stories by default are character driven bc we're all made to fall in love and relate to characters all the time since that's what sells and i mean ((((suwon)))) but it doesnt work for every story lol

and no matter how it could have been handled much better, I think I almost prefer denji and asa or anyone's "arcs" not following any standard character journey and tropes. fujimoto was clearly tired and sick of csm and it feels the truest to that this way

i truly feel unaffected by csm's ending and i think asa's treatment is very insulting but it seems many people expected csm to be a character driven story which it simply never was 😭
