Thanks Julie ☺️ yes, still teaching it...it's our y8 unit to introduce the concept of migration in Britain, before the KS4 unit.

This is like when I found out that, without teflon, the medical shunt couldn't have happened. Blew my mind.

The BBC screened an interview with one of the neighbours this week. I couldn't believe such bigotry went unchallenged. Appalling.

Just reading that Drake died in his amour.
It's given me the giggles. Particularly because he died of dysentery.

Horrifying! Hate it when they blame the tech, too.

As automated emails go, this one was a shocker. Made me panic my account had been hacked when it was nothing to do with the payment failing. I replied to say, 'This sounds like a you problem'.
I await their response.

Currently reading a library book on the train. My local has open access during unstaffed hours so often when I go, I am the only person in the whole building. Dreamy.

So often they just parrot the talking points that are easily disprovable with only the briefest of searches.
It's so disheartening.

There are so many of them now 😩 I'm astonished by how quickly people have become willing to share racist points of view very publicly, with people they don't know very well, as though this is now just what the majority think.

Quite pleased to work out that today's gym visit was my 52nd of the year. Also Weird Gym Man was there but did not approach me, so that was good.

I use the Mysterious Cities of Gold theme with Y13. When I was a kid I would have sworn that series went on for hundreds of episodes.

In pursuit of some kind of life outside of work and inspired by the summer hol list of @spbeale.bsky.social I've had some 'nice things' to do lists since Sept and they've worked well.

Now trying to write one for the coming term. What's traditional for Jan/early Feb? Other than self-flagellation.

Michelle Mone is a proper villain, isn't she.
Sell the boat, Michelle! Reject that neo-lib programming and do something for someone else for a change.

I did not expect to wake up this morning and find myself agreeing with some Marjorie Taylor Greene said. What an odd sensation.

The only reason I liked that section was because it was a good way of wedging in the weird world of the Hapsburgs.
Interestingly the exam board loves to foreign policy bit of my early empire course, too 🤔
