Not every day I get to be outside in the sunshine watching house sports.

An excellent weekend away for cadets from Torquay Academy CCF and Plymouth College CCF. The cadets had to secure their base and clear the area of enemies before closing in and neutralising the enemy positions.

A key challenge for students - "I don't know what to do" often actually means "I don't know how to get directly to the solution". Deliberately modelling this where you as the teacher are not entirely sure of the perfect route and narrating your choices shows this is normal.

Ramadan in schools (via @‌teachertapp) is something we as teachers should be mindful as we should be mindful of all our students faiths. I haven’t had Muslim student for several years but have recently been minded of this as I have one now.

Unplanned solo night ride and a post-storm river cruise led to seeing deer, a kingfisher and a dabchick. Worth the effort.

Great night ride last night with the school mtb club.

After an insanely busy week of marking assessments, feeding back, corrective teaching, a Long range RCO course and having to cancel an FTX that took weeks of planning a touch of bouldering for a meditative start to the morning before some paper reviewing and writing.

As someone who is new here (less than 2 hours here at the time of writing!) this sort of thing is so useful to help rebuild links from, er, the other place...

Been ill this last week, and as the year closes to November (Remembrance) and December (birthday & death of JB), I'm finding social media a bit much.
