Thank you for this — I always preferred Mansfield to Woolf! 🪶However, Frame is kind of in another league for me. I adore her prose and haven’t read many writers quite like her. Some stories continue haunt me (Dot, Prizes, and especially Gorse Is Not People). 💜

It is quite far. 🫤 No, my relative (through marriage) lived in New Caledonia. He was stationed there in World War II. He loved NC so much! He visited NZ once in the 1980s and spoke highly of it!

Wow! Do you visit Australia much? In the US, people *really* don’t know anything about New Caledonia! A relative lived there years ago (has since died) and no one I mentioned it to had ever heard of it.
