character limit killed me here. i don't mean to say AWOW has a COMPLEX narrative i just mean like. comparatively MORE complex than Avatar. it's still ultimately pretty simple. but it's not about that. it's about immersing you in a world with stunning vfx. and on that front it delivers.

Avatar (2009) is a mediocre white savior storyline propped up by stellar vfx and interesting worldbuilding.

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) manages to have even better vfx and worldbuilding as well as a more interesting, complex narrative. It's actually, and it pains me to say this, Kinda Good.
