Defects of the fairies Concentrated study Subtle and profound intellect and yet so innocent. An imposter Introduced him to Spirits who beguiled him With angels an Intervention And a partnership was established He Was much Hated as a wizard he still supported The Magnificent library. Weary of impostors but remaining blindly loyal to spirits though Sometimes the angels Went too far It did no good to Be largely vindicated.

For reference, the full line is:
โLooking back now, I wonder if all champions must come
from the subjection of others.โ
Should I have used subjugation instead?

I just got a chapter back from a beta reader and a question was raised about a specific word I used. The word was subjection instead of subjugation because I was under the impression subjection is typically used to refer to people whereas subjugation was like, countries. Is that not accurate?
Captives in Fairyland. Mortals carried away detained stolen from his mother's side while believing that he had a chance of freedom in the end a sinister reason to sacrifice. Their own kind will be in danger too.

Image split in two, on the left a close up photo of a vampire with blood running down her face looking towards the right. On the right is a picture of a witch, looking towards the left. On the bottom of the image is the title of the book โThe Vampiress of Melrose Abbey by Elowyn Barrettโ Several ovals with movie award laurel crowns around them going down the seam of the split. They say, from the top down, โsapphicโ โ16th century Scotlandโ โFolk horrorโ and. โFeminine rageโ Across the very top are the words โrevenge to die forโ

I accept that as a #Disabled person I am probably not going to survive the coming collapse of civilization. But I still fully plan to fight for my survival (and my comrades') till I drop.
It isn't hope or blind faith.
I believe the fight for justice is worth the salt... even if we lose in the end.
My dermatologistโs โbudgetโ recommendation for a vitamin C serum she wants me to use is $30. It IS budget compared to the $70 one she originally recommended but still wildly outside of what I can afford. ๐ซ
Anyone have any cheaper recommendations for a good quality vitamin C serum?

โI was bound for the grave regardless. The only question left to me was if Iโd be laid to rest six feet under, or if my body would become a grave from the loss.โ

The cover of the Iliad by Homer, Translated by Emily Wilson
Homerโs favorite game is seeing how many different ways he can call a man attractive while complaining about it.
Heโs a pro.
Iโm attending my first critique group thatโs specifically for Science Fiction and Fantasy this afternoon. Iโm super excited!
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Oooo, Iโll have to find that audiobook of that translation! I love Sir Ian Mckellen.
If in 2026, you are STILL saying 'why didn't X survivor/victim of sexual assault go to the cops or prosecutors?' then you cannot be trusted to drive a car or live by yourself because you are ignorant.
I just finished it for the first time! I read Emily Wilsonโs version. Do you have a favorite translation youโd recommend if I were to read it again?

I just used an em dash in my writing and now I can feel myself becoming part AI. ๐
Nah, The Odyssey isnโt pretentious. Although, I might be biased as Iโm actually reading it right now, lol.
Five books to get to know me (in no particular order):
1. The Folk of the Air series - Holly Black
2. Once and Future - Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy
3. The Poppy Wars - R. F. Kuang
4. The Bone Witch - Rin Chupeco
5. The Hazel Wood - Melissa Albert

Itโs so very telling that a symbol representing the systemic failure of the criminal justice system has been co-opted to represent cops.
Like, yes, you are a part of the corrupt system. Thanks for letting everyone know, I guess?
We should stand in solidarity against AI replacing any jobs but especially fellow artists.
Even if they donโt use gen AI for their writing, it still shows theyโre more than willing to help replace other artists jobs with it. Art is art no matter the medium.
Yes, yes, yes! In one of my current WIPs my two MCs are nonbinary (agender because theyโre fae and fae donโt subscribe to gender as a construct) so Iโm having to brush up on pronoun usage a good bit since multiple characters use they/them.
Scrivenerโs new dictionary feature is going to significantly lessen how often I get distracted while writing. ๐ญ I love it!!
