This thought-provoking blog post, written by Dr Saeed Keshavarzi, focuses on the experiences of Afhgans born in Iran, particularly in relation to their social identities, experiences of rejection and social identity loss, and coping strategies. It concludes with implications for policymakers.
This week, we have "Caught Between Two Worlds: The Unique Experiences of Second-Generation Afghan Immigrants in Iran".

GENERATION EU will explore how European identity develops across countries, regions, and social groups, how it changes over time, and whether it may also produce unintended consequences, such as exclusion or backlash toward others.
To learn more and apply:
The project examines how children and adolescents develop a sense of European identity and how that identity shapes both individual outcomes (such as well-being and civic engagement) and broader societal outcomes (including social cohesion and peace).
We welcome a global and diverse pool of applicants for a new ERC Consolidator project, GENERATION EU, based at University College Dublin.
Both self and peer nominations are encouraged. The Twining program could also offer additional mentoring/collaboration opportunities (apply here bit.ly/46IGlgp) We are here to support you and are eager to help.
If you, or anyone you know, is impacted by the ongoing attacks, please consider applying for Emergency Funds (apply here bit.ly/46HoE0H) Limited funds are available to meet the needs of scholars who are under threat and have lost income because of political conflicts.

We are looking back to cast a spotlight on some of the fantastic work that was featured through last year's #EarlyCareerResearcher Blog Post initiative by our Early Career Committee. 🧵
