ChatGPT’s latest stylistic quirk is sinister, infuriating – and absolutely everywhere | Stuart Heritage Once you start noticing “it’s not X, it’s Y” as you scroll online, you can’t fail to register it. I’ve become so hypervigilant that it has seeped into my subconscious thoughts

The AI uptick in "it's not X, it's Y" is everywhere and I'm so tired of seeing it. I stopped using ChatGPT entirely because of X/Y statements, plus the emojis, lists, fluffing, and constant questions. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

It’s really hard to find non-AI art on Etsy nowadays. I normally buy work at shows and from artist sites as I come across things I like, but I have some frames I hung that I need something non-specific for and it’s a real shitshow out there now.

Will update. Playing catch up since most of us are out for the holiday today.

Yesterday NC sent out a “blue alert” because a cop got shot in Georgia. It went out as an emergency alert, which seems like a great way to get people to turn them off. this person was SIX HOURS from where I am, on foot, and never traveled from the original area.

"The whole thing is a hoax," Trump says of the Epstein scandal while Tim Cook is sandwiched between Trump and Vance. Minutes earlier, Cook gave Trump a ridiculous glass and 24k gold statue in a very spectacular display of sucking up.

I think we need to start complaining more about the macOS Tahoe tab design in Safari. It’s awful.

Apparently it’s hard to get matcha right now, and my favorite place is entirely sold out. Anyone have recs? The high grade stuff for koicha. I like vegetal, but not seaweed notes.

Oh nice, thanks for the heads up!

The solution is to avoid Amazon, of course, and I try, but there are some things that are hard to find elsewhere. I'm tired of this AI hellscape.

Amazon's AI is the worst. Amazon sent me the wrong item, I did a return, Amazon sent me the correct item. Today I got an email that I returned the wrong item (DUH), and was going to get charged. The AI has no flow for this, but tried to convince me I didn't need to speak to someone.

Interview: Craig Federighi Opens Up About iPadOS, Its Multitasking Journey, and the iPad’s Essence It’s a cool, sunny morning at Apple Park as I’m walking my way along the iconic glass ring to meet with Apple’s SVP of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, for a conversation about the iPad. It’s th...

I just realized the output in that screenshot doesn't even include blood pressure, lol. Also: I didn't include the screenshot with the partner company that Trump Mobile is allegedly working with (Doctegrity) because I can't find evidence that that they advertise such a feature.

The Trump Mobile Plan website claims that it will include Telehealth with "Contactless Blood Pressure, Heart Rate Monitoring." It seems to imply that these features will work with a biometric face scan, which is very impressive technology for a cellular service.

iOS 26 Messages spam filter is 10/10 so far. No more messages about traffic tickets!

My number one least favorite change in iOS 26 is the relocation of the new tab button in Safari.

10 months ago 2 0 1 0

Well, I can promise you I didn’t mean to. I think I got my wires crossed and mistook it for something else we’d flagged as new. I didn’t realize it was an iOS 18 feature, totally missed the gesture to find it there. I’ve removed my article, and I apologize for the error. Major mistake on my part.

It can look super nice as is, with minimal backgrounds. But I want my cat as my wallpaper, and Apple didn’t account for that apparently.

I like the layered app icons too! They’re neat.

Control Center is a good example of the background dependency. I think the first screenshot here is mostly okay, though I’d still like less translucency. The second is chaos and distracting. This is beta 1, and there’s time for refining. I’m glad to see something fresh overall.

I thought it would have more of a frosted glass look, and instead it’s very transparent. Notifications and Control Center could stand to be more opaque to fix readability. I am not running into any frustrations with the navigation changes. It’s all still intuitive and works as expected so far.

I’m at a little under 24 hours with Liquid Glass, and it’s growing on me. There are parts of it that are great - collapsing nav bar in Safari and TV, app icons, expanding menus, folder backgrounds, and the look in general with the right wallpaper. It’s very background dependent right now.

Speaking as someone who has covered Apple for what feels like forever, this court order is really something special. “For this court, there is no second bite at the Apple.” lol.

Now that I'm a grown up, I have money to buy all the video games I want. But no time to play them. And in the little time I do have, I get carpal tunnel from my steam deck and I have to stop playing and wear a wrist brace.

Why am I not surprised the first thing he did was harass the AI? I’d rather read the AI’s writing, tbh.

The phrase "hoop hoop hoop hoop hoop" can be interpreted in a few ways. It's most likely a playful or humorous way of saying "basketball" or referring to playing basketball, as "hoops" is slang for basketball. However, it could also be a simple repetition of the word "hoop" to emphasize the circular shape of a hoop, a ring, or the hula-hoop.

Post image The phrase "making the milk sizzle" likely refers to the act of causing something, particularly a product or idea, to be exciting, interesting, or even to be very hot. It's a metaphor for creating an emotional connection or a sense of excitement around something. The word "sizzle" itself suggests a hissing sound, often associated with food cooking in a pan, and this sound is used to describe the emotional impact of a product or idea on a customer.

With an unhinged lunatic running the country, flanked by some of the most unqualified people the U.S. has to offer, why would any company want to build here? Even if it were remotely feasible, moving manufacturing to the U.S. would leave companies even more at the mercy of Trump.
