If this wasn’t my favorite account and an image like this came across my feed I’d just assume this is AI, because this is pure fantasy nearly everywhere.
It’s also the sort of transformation that I envisioned @wutrain.bsky.social would shepherd in Boston.

In case you’re wondering, I never got the call, which reinforces that Michelle is indeed smart.
This is a tough one for me, as I’ve always thought about what if I’d stayed in Boston for this administration?
As I look at the sun setting over the Rocky Mountains, I’m reminded: I’m good.
I’m unsure if I ever shared this on the other site, but years ago when Michelle was a City Council President, we met for lunch at some place a stone’s throw from City Hall and after my tirade she said to me “you should be leading BTD”. I relay this not to gloat, but as an indication of where she was
To watch her cower behind the same political mush, lacking conviction in her vision to be a change-maker, induces a sense of naivety. I was certain that we shared the same vision, so to realize that is not the case is frankly, devastating.
I’d like to consider Michelle a friend, and as such won’t light her up they way I would have 10 years ago, but I saw in her someone who could fundamentally change Boston in a way that prepared it for the next 400 years. Someone who sees cities as laboratories for improving people’s lives.
when it comes to establishing a national presence, none were more instrumental than the streets community.
So to begin to get up to speed, and learn that this has been over a year in the making, is hard to wrap my brain around. The betrayal the folks feel is real, and I feel it with you.
With every passing year in Colorado (coming up on 8 years), I follow Boston issues a little bit less. Today I realized how out of touch I am and how long frustration has been brewing there.
Lots of folks and communities were involved in @wutrain.bsky.social’s success but 🧵
Imagine what I would have tweeted to Walsh after he posted something like this. You and I had a meeting with the last administration to address the same frustrations that the same community is expressing right now. You know they see through these non-answers, so who is this for?
Reading that piece was a gut punch, & the comment at the bottom of the article from a former BTD planner that there was better progress under Walsh was heartbreaking.
Remember that this is about so much more than just transportation & ask yourself if the people advising you appreciate that. ❤️
A new light pole in an old concrete sidewalk with a hack-job asphalt patch, with a tree bursting out of its too-small tree well in the background. A dockless bike share bike is parked in the middle of the too-narrow sidewalk which is such because of orange jersey barriers and tables from a private establishment encroaching on the public sidewalk. There’s a door-zone bike lane adjacent to cars parked cheaply on the street. All of this across the street from the primary train station for a major US city.
No city that truly values public space, and believes that beauty should permeate the public realm would allow this.
Can someone back home explain to me what you think is going on here? What’s the consensus on why there’s been a backtrack from such a promising start?
Seeing a dunk contest on one of my favorite people is incredibly depressing, but there’s obviously a lot of frustration.
Avant / Après la piétonnisation et la végétalisation de la Rue de Gravelle dans le 12ème arrondissement de Paris
As a bona fide parking nerd, I had to visit HdM’s 1111 Lincoln Rd today while staying in South Beach.
I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty great!
💪 3/11 Day of Action: On March 11, we’re using Denver’s 311 system to demand safe+accessible streets, honoring the 93 lives lost last year, and pushing leaders to meet Vision Zero—Zero deaths and or serious injuries on the road by 2030. Sign up to express interest only, with details coming soon.
Is that a normal Chicago thing? I’ve never seen anything like that before.
Before (2023) / After (2026) the pedestrianization and greening of a big part of Place Félix Éboué in Paris’s 12th arrondissement. The difference will be even more striking once the trees have leaves ;)
Thank you to everyone who came out for the #AlexPretti memorial ride in Oakland today. It was a huge turnout, even more than shown here at Lake Merritt, as some people peeled off since the start at Rockridge BART. @bikeeastbay.bsky.social @ebbp.bsky.social

If you’re in Denver and want to help plan, I’d welcome the assistance, as I don’t have the ability to marshall folks like I once did.
My wife has been telling me for the past few years that I need to rekindle my activist streak, so I’m shaking off the cobwebs.
OK, so we’re doing this!

As the Co-Chair of the DOTI Advisory Board, I don’t take criticizing the Mayor lightly. But we just hit the highest number ever of people killed in traffic crashes in Denver, and it’s not a priority for Mayor Johnston. Something needed to be said.

And why is the mayor not on here yet? I assume he’s still on the Nazi site.

At the Denver @thewaroncars.bsky.social event and struck by how much this movement has grown since I first got sucked in 15+ years ago.
This whole thing is infuriating.
It appears the fascists have decided that NREL is now an oil and gas research lab.
