Aurora Ave is already a wall for people who need to cross. The risk to crossing is death or serious injury. Aurora Ave needs safe places to cross and to be changed to serve the needs of the people who live in our city. We don't justify bridges by the number of people swimming across a body of water.

This is where these people attempted to cross the road. Notice the two 7 story apartment buildings across the street.

Seattle’s Sound Transit “could save at least $15 billion by adopting international best practices and building automated light rail from Ballard to West Seattle. This reform would allow rail to get to Ballard by 2039, rather than decades later.” [showing Vancouver’s skytrain]

This is a warning to residents of Lake City. Any future grocery store that could open in the former Fred Meyer will be subject to this.

SEPA reform now

The appeal states that the store will generate more car traffic which will generate pollutants that harm the environment for nearby residents and harm local waterways.
The hearing examiner did not find in their favor but instead denied on technicality, that a review from 2018 was submitted.

Are kids getting to and from school counted as commuters? Genuinely asking as it seems incorrect to consider them car commuters when they can't drive.

We need SEPA reform in WA. While areas of the city are dealing with losing their grocery stores, repurposing a former grocery store building to open a grocery store requires an environmental review that can prevent the store from opening on a technicality.

Case Details for W-25-008

Winco is pausing/canceling their permit to open at the old Sam's Club at 135th & Aurora. Lake Washington Working Families appealed SEPA on the basis that building renovation would harm the environment. It failed, but exposed that the City used 2018 baseline data instead of current conditions.

They also kill the most amount of people in our state but I guess I neglected to mention that part because it's just a normal thing that we accept.

Washington state shouldn't have built interstate 5. The reality is that it is too expensive to maintain now and our freeways and highways are the main source of traffic congestion and pollute our waterways and kill our salmon.
