Thats paying rent on a car, with a option to buy sure, but still. That's paying a bill in perpetuity trying to dodge repair bills. You'll pay more over time leasing than you will owning and fixing a car that you own. But even those two things are chasing parity.

Between initial buying cost, maintenance cost (parts+labor), and fuel cost being astromical and not just suddenly but for a WHILE now, SOMETHING has to break towards the people BUYING cars.

We're not into 5-7 year ownership anymore we're in 10-12 because NEW cars are increasingly burdensome. 🚗

I print on a heavily modified Ender-3, no fancy tricks here. Poly-Smooth prints with regular PLA settings, the only caveat being that you *REALLY* have to keep it dry while storing it.

You should try poly-smooth filament. It's a teeny bit more expensive, but smoothes with isopropyl alcohol and gets rid of fine layer lines pretty nicely.
