SB101 will gut your school's budget - Tell Gov. Ayotte to reject S.B. 101 would force mandatory open enrollment across New Hampshire, allowing state education funding to follow students out of their home districts—while the schools left behind absorb the costs. This isn't about helping all public schools, families and students. It's about draining already underfunded public schools to subsidize transfers that only a small number of families can realistically use. The families with the time, transportation and resources to send their children to another district will benefit. Everyone else—the students who stay, the educators who serve them, and the local taxpayers who fund the buildings—will pay the price. S.B. 101 provides no meaningful protections for students with disabilities, threatens jobs and programs in property-poor communities, and shifts costs onto local property taxpayers who are already overburdened. Gov. Ayotte can stop this bill. Use the form below to send her a message: Reject open enrollment and invest in the public schools that serve every child in every community.

Who really pays for business tax cuts in New Hampshire?  • New Hampshire Bulletin Earlier this month, the New Hampshire House passed what looks like a tiny change: a 0.05 percentage point cut to the Business Enterprise Tax. But this small number masks big consequences.

"From 2015 to 2024, our state’s business tax revenues more than doubled (a 118% increase). However, over the same period, business tax revenues more than tripled nationally (a 239% increase) and across the other five New England states." From @genemartin.bsky.social via @nhfpi.bsky.social

In dramatic reversal, House kills school district budget cap bill • New Hampshire Bulletin The New Hampshire House abruptly killed a Republican bill to impose budget caps on school districts Thursday, after some Republicans joined Democrats to dramatically alter the bill.

This is the power of organizing! @AFTNH.bsky.social members banded together and stopped HB 675 in the NH house, a bill that would have cut much-needed resources from public schools & taken away local say. Thank u AFT New Hampshire members for all that you do! newhampshirebulletin.com/2026/01/08/i...
