another thing which irks me about the Cis People Taking Hormones columns is trans folk have long said "maybe a lot of folk would be happier with a slightly different hormonal setup to what their body produces"

T is OK for cis women but not trans men.

Puberty blockers are OK for cis kids but illegal for trans kids.

You see it, right? You see what this is?

"Get a job"

❌ ableist

❌ encourages capitalism

❌ people can be losers and be employed

❌ makes being jobless sound like a moral failing

"Get a hobby"

✔️ keeps disabled people who can't work in mind

✔️ does not encourage capitalism

✔️ if they already have hobbies you can tell them to get a new one

✔️ encourages a better use of autonomy and freetime

Caught short: Decline in public toilets ‘traps people in homes’
The Daily Telegraph20 Apr 2026By Telegraph Reporter
PUBLIC lavatory “deserts” across England are stopping people leaving their homes, health leaders have warned.

Analysis by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) found a “significant shortfall” in the number of public toilets across the country, with facilities dropping by 14 per cent since 2016.

Its calculations, shared with the Press Association, suggest there are now 15,481 people for every public toilet in England.

The data is based on more than 200 Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to councils in charge of providing public toilets.

The RSPH warned that a lack of toilets increases the number of people who then urinate in public, creating unhygienic conditions.

It also pointed to a potential knock-on effect for local businesses after its research suggested some people avoid going out owing to a lack of public facilities. Other people restrict their fluid intake – risking dehydration, the RSPH said.

William Roberts, chief executive of the RSPH, said: “Access to public toilets is a universal need that we all have, and we shouldn’t shy away from talking about it.

Won't somebody think of the cis people who can't pee when they leave the house? [Telegraph]

Literally this morning. This isn't some random transphobic account, it's a prominent figure in UK anti-trans politics, with 160k followers, routinely promoted and RTd by Rowling, "Sex Matters", etc. Just openly calling to completely ban being trans.

What are trans folks supposed to do with that?

Ingram DSQ'd from Race 1 after winning it, then DNS in Race 2, while Sutton's gone from a DNF in the Quali Race to 2nd in Race 1 and leading Race 2

plus various other penalties and mechanical issues

putting how useless Kezia is signalling she’s going to be in charge of Stonewall, it’s wild for The Guardian to describe the charity losing half its income for supporting trans rights as if it was something that happened organically and not as part of a massive hate campaign they took part in

screenshot of a tweet from @BTCC:

AMENDED RESULT: Tom Ingram has been handed a post-race penalty as his car was adjudged to have had a significant overboost. He has subsequently been disqualified from the final result, whilst Adam Morgan has been handed a five second penalty for a lesser overboost infringement.

this uk press increased its coverage of trans people 100 fold (60 articles/yr to 7,500, almost uniformly hostile)

they then say lgbtq+ people provoked that by advocating for themselves

i'd also call your attention to how the guardian - ***nominally a liberal newspaper*** - frames this:

stonewall is struggling because it was 'uncompromising' on trans rights

not because the national media, guardian included, decided to hound a minority from public life
