Man, the market for buying movies is a mess. What do you mean I can't get a 4K copy of Spice World? Why wouldn't they make that?

The Beekeeper's Picnic by @jabbage.bsky.social is just the most wonderful thing. It's a Sherlock Holmes love story, set in his retirement village of Fulworth, and it's so utterly heartwarming. There's an incredible cast, and I adore everything about it!

5. American. For now.

4. Honestly I don’t post much. I’m not a “post stuff into the void publicly” type of person. I’m much more active on closed-down platforms like my private instagram. :P

Trudeau: I think Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us.

I don’t think there are a lot of Americans who wake up in the morning saying, "Oh, damn Canada. Oh, we should really go after Canada."

“What radicalized you?”

The Lord Jesus Christ commanding me to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me, the desert elders, and any of the saints now in glory who told corrupt establishments to repent or die, actually

Maybe I’ll have another 40, maybe not. For now, I’ll take it year by year, and simply be grateful for the time I have, here and with you.

Love, peace, and God power!

For the shoulders I’ve leaned on and cried on, for the numerous meals I’ve been fed, for the HUNDREDS of rides I’ve had over the years, for the gifts I’ve received, for the songs you’ve heard — piano & karaoke! — and the dances you’ve seen, for the time that I’ve spent with you, thank you.

I believe that I am empty without my faith but also incomplete without my people. I am the product of my relationships, my connections, my beloveds. Some of them fell apart, and some prematurely ended, to my heart’s detriment, but some have endured for years, decades.

A LOT of you have reached out, which I appreciate. I didn’t plan anything big this week, mainly because of my massive belated birthday bash happening in the fall (that looks like it will have 30+ people so far), but I’d be glad to get taken out for dinner! 😁

Some revelations were not as nice. I realized what loneliness & anxiety were and how they affect me. I saw some imperfections glaringly, suddenly, as if someone sprayed Windex and wiped a mirror facing my soul after years of buildup. But I also felt a greater sense of gentle yet overwhelming grace.

First visit to certain places. First connections with new friends. First “conference friends” coming to #yeg, with one staying over for a bit (a true highlight of the year for me). First time interviewing a pastor candidate as part of a search committee, and on the flip side, first podcast episode.

It’s Blue Monday, MLK Day, and presidential inauguration day. And the day I’ve completed 40 loops around the sun.

I don’t want to overlap too much with what I said previously — there are only so many reflections one can have in a month, I guess — but there were so many firsts in the past year.
