Where is Ms Appleyard these days?
Correct
yes
Absolutely fuck everyone with aftermarket headlights that are too bright. Iβm not talking about new cars, Iβm talking about buddy in the busted up Elantra driving around with flickering shitty cheap Canadian Tire lights blasting 10k+ Lumen

And people are losing their shit over a 10m wide corridor for ALTO lol
New Hwy 7 construction in Kitchener has started, but did it really require a swath of clearcut several hundred metres wide? The area has been decimated.

I think most of the (earned) criticism is that they didnβt make it ICTS. Making a totally different technology from all other lines means now you need to double everything - spare parts, maintenance, staff trainingβ¦ etc - no compatibility of vehicles
Itβs better to have the smallest loading gauge possible. VAL is the king of this concept. Small trains at high frequency means the tunnel can be very small.
Fat short trains = about the worst choice
Why does that matter - your path is still the same?
Gorgeous
no
One hopes images like this, when paired with the knowledge that everything we burn ends up in that tiny slice of gasses, would help contextualize why we need to move away from energy sources we set on fire.
One hopes. Climate communicators should make some hay of this.
Why is there a (Montreal, Quebec) exo bus in Orangeville, Ontario?!
Where can I find the details of that?

The assumption in Toronto seems to be that all TTC alerts and signage are only focused on those who live and breathe it daily.
This message is so meaningless. Would it kill them to have a map showing a visual of where the closure is?

The future used to be so cool.
(A thread, likely)
Dupont Station
Honestly the acceleration profile is SO good I just want everyone to experience this. The trains just absolutely floor it
The new REM branch A4 to Deux Montagnes is an absolute model for how transit should operate. Frequent and fast, it ramps up to 95 km/h steady between virtually every station, holds it the whole time and then rapidly decelerates. Itβs not timid and itβs so good. 10/10.
De LβEglise. Absolument fantastique.
Line 5 is so good!
